This is probably the most far out building in Melbourne at the moment
bandicam-2020-08-15-18-15-25-730.jpg
I am sure it was not suppose to be built that way :D. but typical of what I have come to expect working in the industry :p.

Yes I was born in Brisbane and moved in 1973 came back 1989 Gold Coast and had no problems finding my way around in both, but nowadays I am not so sure of where I truly am at times getting about, should I be in this lane or that or is this the turn off or is it the next one, what's this ? oh no a bloody tunnel. even at 8yo I knew everywhere Brisbane Gold Coast.

I do like looking at old photos of such places, I wish I hung on to all the old UBD maps books, I would get the latest UBD and they were not good enough for me as many of the roads were not on it yet where I had to got to work.
I have an interest in the old highways as well, that I remember driving north. not to mention the tracks that the Pioneers travelled in all of Australia that's very interesting to me.
My dads side moved out to the Darling Downs 1863 and before they had the old road built out to Warwick there was a cable winder on top of the hill some miles north of the road you go up nowadays.
Another place we lived was a mansion that was on the original old township that not many know was the first settlement and a cemetery down the back paddock with the old bell pull as well on some craves. that cemetery is not known by most at all, they built a new one and called it the same name. it was built just off the highway but a new highway got built and the old snakes in and out of the new that was built 1975 I think.
I ride a dirt bike and got around to all old places that once existed and old abandoned cemetery's way off the roads.
Remember the Leyland brothers adventures.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern calls Trump's claim of coronavirus surge "patently wrong"

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Tuesday slapped down President Trump's talk of an out-of-control coronavirus "surge" in New Zealand as "patently wrong." She expressed dismay after Mr. Trump exaggerated the new virus outbreak in New Zealand as a "huge surge" that Americans would do well to avoid. Anyone who is following," Ardern said, "will quite easily see that New Zealand's nine cases in a day does not compare to the United States' tens of thousands."

"Obviously, it's patently wrong," she added of Mr. Trump's remarks, in unusually blunt criticism from an American ally.

You even got the date spot on, they were taken in 1972... Are you from around there?

Man that article is so full of propaganda... CBS news...

- If there is no surge in NZ then why did she lock down the whole country... LoL... There is a surge. The NZ PM is lying.
- NZ numbers are low cos their so isolated and have low air traffic. Not cos she is a miracle worker.
- Her blunt criticism isn't unusual at all from a politician as left wing as her.
- Considering they were holding her up as some kind of example against Trump, its only fair that he point out the facts.
* All NZ showed us was that their strict lockdowns (the strictest in the west at the time) did not eradicate the virus. Our state confirms that too

This is all the democrats have got, Trump obsession... They've done this for 4 years, wasted time focusing on him rather than themselves
What have they changed since last campaign... Have they done nothing to win voters and they have been exposed now as well...
Hating Trump and his supporters ain't gonna win voters and Biden has dementia so i dunno how they even think they will win...

Really, The first photo was looking north from Point Danger towards the Coolangatta airport with Currumbin on the top right hand corner of the photo.

As for all of the pictures being taken in 1972, this fun fact of yours is so far off the mark that it is actually funny, since the Jubilee Bridge was demolished after the new bridge across the Nerang River was opened in 1966. It was not there, as far as I can remember, in August 1968/9 when I was on a camp in Southport.

But why let the facts get in the way of your great story.

You think nine cases are a surge? Could she have done it to prevent a surge?

Me... Apfft... Nooo not me... New Zealand...:)

They had been covid free for over 100 days after she imposed the most totalitarian restrictions in the west
Then 5 cases showed up, no one knows where it came from and she locked down. So either its a surge or she's overreacted

After the media pulled this...
"You see what is going on in New Zealand," Mr. Trump told supporters. "They beat it; they beat it. It was like front page
Isn't it reasonable for him to now say "no they didn't beat it"?

Its going to be war if Trump wins in November i think...
But they have themselves to blame, couldn't even line up a decent leader and became even more radical in their ideology

Why did he say they beat it to begin with?

Just had a look at the border line of Tweed Heads in my UBD and yes it's Tweed Heads in fact and Coolangatta, the border of Tweed Heads runs up boundary st to point danger in fact, so half and half of the point is both in fact and the airport is in Tweed Heads.
The other side of the river is called Tweed Heads South.

A mate of mine who lived in Tugun with the jets taking off directly over his place and in Bilinga before that with the Jets coming in beside his place across the road and he worked at Tweed Heads and he and that lot down their would call Southport the North Coast and I living in Southport would call the North Coast, Caloundra to Noosa. The Gold Coast I would call the north of that coast down that way the Tweed.

I liked the whole Coast down their back in the days but I have no intention of living back their ever again, nowadays it's a rat race down their. I still go to the same dentist down their, tho 27 years since I left the place.

I think when NZ stopped getting cases the media over there was holding it up as an example.
Saying they beat it but you can't Mr Trump, it's all your fault... From that one link i read, thats what it looks like.
And when i think about it, thats what they would do, true? They've been blaming Trump for covid since the start

I don't think Jacinda said much about how Trump handled the virus until he made that comment about New Zealand having a huge surge. What surprised me was that she bothered to comment on him even after that. She should know he makes strange statements.

I haven't see her blaming Trump for the virus cases in New Zealand. Why would she?

I would say that the USA needs Trump more than ever now to keep the economy cracking, the left have no idea about business that's truly worthy of reality, you get the off hand remark from people like that who could not truly care less, they will turn to you and say we are a rich country ! Don't you know ! look at the 3rd world they say, well I say I don't give a - I don't want to live like them or leave that sort of crap to my children, in fact my forefathers struggled to make something of Australia for the next generations, so they would not have to live like dogs. but the Socialist want us all to live like dogs, because they are dogs, lazy good for nothing stuck up derelicts, simple minded short sighted fools that can't see past there own nose. they have it all wrong and are barking up the wrong tree. I think many of that type have had such a pampered life that they can't see reality. the old she will be right attitude of a drongo. it's like they are surfing in the tube and have no idea what it's like to get dumped and had to swim back up for air only to be hit again directly and then again, it can happen. have you ever watched Surf's up, with big Z, that's such a reality show.
