Just had a look at the border line of Tweed Heads in my UBD and yes it's Tweed Heads in fact and Coolangatta, the border of Tweed Heads runs up boundary st to point danger in fact, so half and half of the point is both in fact and the airport is in Tweed Heads.
The other side of the river is called Tweed Heads South.

LoL... Ye i know mate, i was just pulling your leg to see what u would say... NSW to the south and QLD to the north...

So 3 locations are correct... Now... Your original answer was early 70s and they were taken in 1972...
BUT...
The floor manager has contacted me and made me aware of your final call... You changed your bet to early 60s...
I can't pay out that one... Sorry pal...

So how far north have u lived b4?
Im doing Cape York from here one day, 4x4. And while im there i may as well go west along the top and do a lap of Oz

I haven't see her blaming Trump for the virus cases in New Zealand. Why would she?

No she didn't. I meant the US media is blaming Trump for covid in the States

It wasn't a personal attack on her. It was maybe even wrong choice of words from Trump as usual

Righto. That's why I wondered why she took what Trump said seriously.

in fact my forefathers struggled to make something of Australia for the next generations, so they would not have to live like dogs

I couldn't stop thinking of them when i saw the city in this state... Thats why i started looking at those old photos.

My dad would always say that he came here (from Europe) to give us (me and sis) a better life...
I didn't understand as a child but i do now. He was born and raised in the only fascist country left in Europe under dictator Antonio Salazar.

Then from 17yo he skipped country to avoid getting drafted into the fascist military, fighting their colonial wars still.
And he lived another 10 years, illegally, in the most racist society on earth, the only nation with apartheid.

My old man knows what real racism is and real oppression. And so when he came here in the early 70s he loved it and joined in...
He has such stories but... You could make a film from his life and it would be a top seller i reckon...

A lot of time its hard to know the context. I'll read something but then when i hear it i get something else...
Did she just say this at a press conference... Im guessing someone asked her what she thought about Trumps claims of a surge...

And if that was the first she had heard then she would of said its not a surge, which it isn't. Just media games

The main observation for me is that
- NZs hard lockdowns were pointless, it returned. So these hard lockdowns must stop around the world. (they won't i reckon)
- How instantly willing she was to close the whole nation over 5 cases in one family. (set a new precedent)

She took state of emergency powers as well and held the title for most authoritarian... But then she had to had over the crown to our premier Dan

No influenza deaths recorded in Australia so far this winter
No flu deaths recorded in Australia so far this winter

And the insanity just keeps going... Another smoking gun, right... RIGHT...

bandicam-2020-08-21-12-08-42-422.jpg

There have been no deaths associated with influenza across Australia so far this winter with authorities noting social distancing, increased testing, hand hygiene and people staying home if they’re sick have all contributed to the dramatic change in figures.

Ahahahaha what total nonsense... ohh geez...

My olds were thinking of going to their homeland for a few months, i was thinking of joining them, there is no fear mongering there, they use the HCQ and where my parents are from is a beautiful isolated holiday island with zero covid... ZERO

They will let us in... BUT... Our communist government will not let us leave the country... WHY NOT...
There is no reason why we can't leave the country for a break... Yet they are holding us here, against our will, for no reason at all...

There are no influenza deaths and the influenza numbers are very low because of social distancing and other restrictions.

Hey @marksman I didn't know, or forgot u were Melbournian... How are u going anyway??? Who are u with???
Go back to pages 19, 20, 21 and have a look at some old photos of Melbourne that i dug up.
Hopefully there is a bit of nostalgia in those photos for u mate... Enjoy

I noted that there were still plenty of people about but they were mainly on foot. Not so many cars. I noted the Standard round-backed car in the Bourke St picture. I had my first ride in one of them when I was just a teen. Was considered a luxury car.

Good to see that Flinders St Station is still standing in its original form. To change it would be sacrilege.

Who am I with? As the Queen might say "My husband and I...." only in my case it is "My wife and I...." Kids up and away and producing after their own kind. No evolution there.

My wife is a third-generation Melburnian. Her family is Italian and came from the south of Switzerland at the turn of the last century.

Ah that's good to hear... Did u have a look at the pics on pages 20 and 21 as well... St Pauls, Melbourne cup, Punt rd, MCG...

Ye i was never a fan of the modern architecture and always preferred the Victorian era designs

Ah, ok... We tend to think that European immigration started after WW2.
But her great grandparents must of come here around the turn of the century, 1900.

And your ancestors... Back to the pioneers, right...
I hate how they've highjacked Australia day now on the 26th of Jan. My dads and sisters birthdays are 27 and 28 so we always have a BBQ.
Now we have to put up with these stupid protests every year... In America they called these people "Indian givers"...

John Batman bought this Melbourne area in the 19th century. He negotiated with the local elders and they struck a deal... So they bought this land fair and square, and now they try to say this and that... Its all rubbish

Yes, the photos were great.

They did and there were four brothers and they all set up farms in the area. One was mayor of Hawthorn at one stage and they had a park and road named after him. The park along Manningham Road was land donated by the brothers for public use.

The situation we find ourselves in today is due to the fact that interest groups who consider themselves victims of white colonization have dominated the school curriculum and as a result, the true history of the area has been distorted and not been taught.

The truth is that white colonization for all its problems and wrongs had made Australia what it is today. The deprivation of the Aborigines is a furphy as with the Mabo decision they were all given a square mile of land each. It is there to do as they please so if they have done nothing with it that is their problem, not ours.

Like so many victim groups, they prefer to be victims because it means they can sit on their backsides doing nothing and living on handouts from the government every time they can invent another problem. If the government gave all the Aborigines $1 million a year they would still not be happy, that is if there were any around as they would probably drink themselves to death.

Ye i know someone who is part Abo, just looks like a white guy but... He got paid more when we were at school, he got paid more when we were on the dole, he got taxed less when we were working... In NSW they were given brand new homes and they used the materials for fire wood...
And they still claim to be oppressed with their hands out...

Early contributors to this town... I know Manningham rd, it continues on from Bell st and the park you speak of must be by the Yarra...
Now... I was looking at the map trying to spot an Italian name. I saw Banksia park. Sounds like it could be Italian but they don't use the letter K that often... So i looked at the nearby roads and saw Rosanna rd... That is an Italian name for sure... Was their surname Rosanna?

How about you and your family... What did u do and they do? What area did u grow up in?

The family name was Righetti. There is a Righetti Oval in Hawthorn and a Righetti Street. We had the annual family get together at the Oval earlier on in the year. All the family lives in Melbourne except two and they usually come down for the occasion.

I do not know what my ancestry is as I was abandoned as a two-week-old baby. I moved from home to home on the Eastern side of Melbourne. Got out 20 years ago when I got fed up with the constant traffic jams and moved to Gippsland. I think everyone has followed me as we get the traffic jams here now.

Hahaha your wifes family sound like the early Melbourne/Italiano mafia.
Gangland underground... hehehe... :D:D:D... She must be Catholic then... Or was at least...
Being 3rd gen im guessing she doesn't speak Italian much...

Did your wife have to work when u were raising your kids???
My parents married and had me late (for back then)born in 77, both my parents worked in factory in Broadmeadows through the 80s and 90s
I know my mum would have preferred to had been with us growing up but she had to work.

According to todays charts and graphs of median wages, houses, etc it was much more affordable in the 70s and more so the 60s and 50s...
Would u say thats right? Was it more affordable? Could a mother be a mother?

I would have named u Moses, abandoned in a basket, i was just reminded of it... LoL...
Ok so your from the streets... Your not talking Hawthorn but the hoods beyond, around Dandy... What kind of work did u do...
Alotta nothing office jobs these days. Im in engineering, metal fab and mech.

Off course you got fed up with the traffic and the madness, the noise, the darkness, the concrete jungle... Me no like.
Everyone has followed you. I went out to Bairnsdale in Jan and i saw how much bigger all the towns had become since last time i was there...
Gippy is growing... I want to ahead out that way and chill as well. Past Gippy but, around the NSW south coast there. Outside of this communist state. Boat/fishing, bush, nature, take up birdwatching now that im getting on a bit, snow is not far

Last night I broke several of these tyrannical new laws which I refuse to accept...

- I travelled more than 5kms from my home
- I was not at home after the 8pm curfew
- I went to a friends house
- I didn't observe social distancing
- I didn't wear a face mask (I have a doctors certificate that exempts me from wearing any silly masks)

It was great to catch up with a few mates, watch the footy and have a few drinks...:p
Such social gatherings are essential to our well being and mental health so we have planned to do this at least once a week...;)

If you have the self-righteous urge to label me a murderer or selfish I would say don't be a hypocrite.
If your not in Victoria then you have no idea what it's like here so your in no position to criticize.
If your well off then you would also be hypocritical in telling someone what to do when they're hard up
If u recently haven't had to experience a tragic death like a cousin killing himself then i would say shut up cos u have no idea.
If u still feel like calling me selfish I would say your a narcissist who doesn't value lives unless they're covid

On the weekend i encountered a testing bay where they were pulling over drivers to test for covid.
When it came to me i refused to take the test. She called her boss over and before long there were several of them trying to convince me to take the test. They even went to the extreme of lying to me by trying to say that it is mandatory, but i held firm and they eventually had to let me pass...
The world has gone crazy, but this was all planned in advance. Look up “Event 201,” which was a scripted live event that took place 5 months before the corona virus was unleashed on the world.

I would never presume to be an expert on Aussie politics. I don’t live there. Plus, I know how I feel when people on this forum who are not Americans discount my opinions of American politicians like I couldn’t possibly know what I’m talking about.

Our state leader called a "state of emergency" in March. Parliament stops and the premier can pass through bills as he sees fit, without the senate...
The democratic system of passing legislation is gone... We are essentially under a tyranny. Cops can do as they please in the name of covid.

Their acting like they want to eradicate it but they won't tell us... But so long as ther is one case in our state he can keep extending this bs state of emergence every 4 weeks... So just beware, u might start seeing similar tactics over there... Its too late for us i think...
My parents and i looked into catching a plane to Europe but they won't even let us leave now

https://www.sheppnews.com.au/news/2020/06/22/1244141/sheed-calls-for-victorian-parliament-to-resume-before-august

State Member for Shepparton Suzanna Sheed says the Victorian Government is ‘'robbing” her and the community if parliament does not return before August.

Ms Sheed has demanded parliament should resume sitting as soon as possible rather than the government's set date of August 4 to ensure she can give answers to the Shepparton community about what life will look like post COVID-19.

“Shutting down parliament during a one-in-a-hundred-year disaster not only sends a terrible message to the community, but robs members of their ability to communicate directly with the cabinet during this critical time,” Ms Sheed said.

She said it was vital the Victorian Parliament continue sitting to allow members to bring their concerns and needs of their constituents to the government on issues such as what would happen when JobKeeper and JobSeeker ended in the coming months.

“Our communities have been plunged into the worst crisis they have ever experienced, and that has had an amazing impact . . . there are a lot of other people in the community who are desperate to keep going . . . they need their businesses to open, they need to re-employ people.

“Everyone has that fear of JobKeeper and JobSeeker finishing in a few months’ time.

“They have been incredible buffers to the reality of this absolute crisis and pandemic that we are in at the moment.”

Ms Sheed said members of parliament were privileged to be employed and should get on with their job at such a critical time.

“For us to now leave this place and not come back until August, to stick to a timetable that was set in different times is to me a failure on all of us.

“I think the community expects us to be in this place and to be not only seen to be working hard but to actually be working hard, because nobody else is taking holidays.”

Ms Sheed also said holding the government to account would be harder if they didn't sit again until August.

In the upper house, Wendy Lovell criticised her three fellow Northern Victoria MPs for voting with the government.

Ms Lovell said it was an utter disgrace and Premier Daniel Andrews was avoiding public scrutiny on the back of the recent branch stacking scandal.

“While I commend Suzanna Sheed and Ali Cupper (Member for Mildura) for voting with the Liberal Party to return parliament in two weeks’ time, Northern Victoria members Jaclyn Symes, Mark Gepp and Tania Maxwell should hang their heads in shame for supporting the government with this decision,” she said.

“Their collective actions are a slap in the face to the constituents they claim to represent.”
