She claims to have the gift not me.

Doesn't the gift of healing work with all sickness and disease. What a little poison going to hurt just raise yourself from the dead eh

I do have faith in His divine protection, and have seen it happen over and over.

I can care less about charimatics false teachings.

I would convert to catholicism before entertaining false teachers and heresies taught by copeland , hinn, hagin etc......

Once again, brother, you are directly evading a real debate with me by referring to people I have already openly denounced in previous posts.

How is it a "debate" posted in the "debate" forum when you keep "countering" with comments as if you were ignoring me and talking to someone else?

Can you at least answer me that?

tell that to the Apostles who all died as martyrs except John and all the others ones throughout church history. Jesus promises sufferings and persecution as His disciple, not health and wealth.

You are using every tired argument in the book, brother. You have to understand, dozens of Charismatics have had these conversations with people on your side at this forum in the past.

Let me ask you yet another question: If it is only the true healing power of God if one can heal anyone at will, at any time, then why didn't the New Testament saints heal the entire planet?

This is another thing that Cessationsists nearly always resort to, Waiting. The accusation that we are somehow arrogant simply because we are telling we have experienced the spiritual gifts. By the same argument, sinners could say the same thing about anyone who says they have experienced the saving grace of God. I would consider them to simply be engaging in slander, and I would be right, and the same thing is true of Cessationists who consistently make this accusation against their own brothers and sisters in Christ.
I simply don’t understand, for me the faith given by God is enough. If I were stricken tomorrow with an irreversible illness it would be ok, as I know what is before me is far greater than can be imagined, sure I have loved ones that depend on me, but the same God that delivers me will also see to their needs.

He does not promise that they will die instantly, suffering persecution and martyrdom, the minute they receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. You appear to be claiming to be a teacher here, Christophany, but your posts and interpretations are continually off.

If you want to know what I believe just read MacArthur's book Charismatic Chaos. I'm 100% behind his exegesis on the topic.

He stinks on this issue. No offense, but you need to read other things, or you will stay just as misguided and blind on the subject as MacArthur is.

I'm just giving you a point of reference at to how I believe on the topic. And I've read others as well. As a young believer my best friends family was Charismatic/Pentecostal and his 2 older siblings got their degrees from ORU. So I'm well acquainted with the beliefs since the early 70's.

I even went forward along with my brother in law at the time to receive the " baptism of the spirit" evidenced by "speaking in tongues" at a Swaggart crusade in Oakland during the early 80's. It was utter chaos and swaggart jr was right in front of me (so close I could touch him) telling me to start talking baby talk and working those around me up. What I witnessed was not God as He is not the author of confusion. I could go on and on but this is enough to suffice for now. And every charismatic always looks down upon those who do not speak in tongues as second class christians. I want no part of that sect one bit.

The question came up about how freely we announce our "spiritual gifts".

Why would we do it?

I mean, if I think I have such and such gift, where is the importance of announcing that to you?

To me, spiritual gifts are God's business, not ours. To me, our gifts are so that we can share God's love through practical help to someone in need with whom we are in contact.

Why would we go beyond the use of our gifts, into a proclamation of what gift(s) I think I have?

Much love!

I do not believe in the prosperity movement. But that is only one part of the message of the Faith Movement.

Do you remember the parable of the ten talents? That is about faith. The one with 2 measures of faith, acted on it and it grew. The one with 5 measures of faith, acted on it and it grew. But the one in fear and only given one measure of faith, killed that faith and it was completely taken from him. You are that who only had a little faith, mocking those who have much more that keeps growing expenentially, every time they act on their faith.

“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

If someone asks you because they believe the gifts have ceased, wouldn't you want to stand up for the Word of God that it is TRUE? Especially to those of little faith who mock the Word of God.
