2 Thessalonians 2:4 He is the Adversary, [the 'beast' of Revelation 13:1-8] who raises himself up against every God and who enthrones himself in God's Temple, declaring himself to be God.

This will happen at the mid point of the final 7 years of this Christian age. Exactly 1260 days before Jesus Returns.

The Temple is the Body...

1 Corinthians 3:16
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

One must not defile the Temple Body...

1 Corinthians 3:17
"If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

Yet, this defilement will happen one day when an idol is placed in the Temple Body...

2 Corinthians 6:16
"And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

How exactly will this 'agreement' occur?

Matthew 24:15
"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)"

So, what part of our Temple Body is the Holy Place? This guide will help understand...

My guess is that the Holy Place is DNA.

An idol will be placed there. In other words, Transhumanism...

ABSOLUTELY. -- But I just don't think you're interested in finding out, -- that you're content with your opinion versus the TRUTH.

And it's too bad ...

Yes, I've studied the subject for a long time. The AoD in the Olivet Discourse is the Roman Army that arrives in Jerusalem to destroy that city and its temple. Jesus knew this both from private revelation and also from Dan 9, where it is spelled out in vss. 26-27 that an AoD would come to destroy the city and the sanctuary.

The confusion comes from conflating this particular AoD with another AoD in the book of Daniel that specifically points to Antiochus 4, who seems to foreshadow the coming Antichrist. In Dan 8 and 11, ass well as in 12.11-12 we see this AoD in play.

But we should not confuse the two very different AoDs, lest we find ourselves unable to fit the two separate prophecies together. Indeed, I think it's impossible to do so. Many will, however, keep trying.

well the AoD Jesus mentions is key because when they ask Him when these things will happen He starts with AoD.

I do believe you're correct about Titus' siege of Jerusalem, seeing that Jesus advises a type of run for the hills in His statements, and Titus did sacrifice a pig at the temple when the romans toke control of the temple, which would qualify as an abomination. then Titus trashed the rest of the city, which qualifies as a desolation.

also from that time forward to WWII was a great tribulation for the Jewish people.

i do believe there's a history of a god I think zeus was placed in the temple not sure when, I think the Greeks did it once also.

I've repeatedly declared this on more than one forum, without reasonable opposition, that a major view in the history of the Church was that the AoD Jesus referred to took place in his generation, as stated. There were several views on what the "abomination" actually was--as I said, this often gets conflated with the "abomination" of Antiochus 4, which was a very different situation.

It is my opinion that the Roman "abomination" was the Army itself, which Jesus said "stood around the city" in the "holy place," ie in the vicinity of Jerusalem. But the important point is that this did *not* refer to the Antichrist, which is a position often pushed today without much evidence from the passage itself.

its understood that Jesus speaks of the body as a temple because its suppose to be God's place in the earth.

but that's not what we are talking about here are we? by the way, the Holy place in that case is where God's Presence is. Paul advises to walk in Spirit, correct?

Matt. 24:15 “So when you see the desolating sacrilege spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; 17 let him who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house; 18 and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his mantle. 19 And alas for those who are with child and for those who give suck in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

It would appear that your doctrines blind you from Scripture.

the position you refer to in antichrist has been around for hundreds of years, you better get used to the idea that it will be around until proven by historic events to be incorrect. people like to argue what you can't prove incorrect because they have no real interest in the truth, only the winning of the argument and placing doubt amongst Christians.

This, -- apparently --, from a TRUE 13 year old girl, who has no clue but thinks she KNOWS IT ALL.

does anyone have solid scripture and or history, that defines what abomination that maketh desolate actually is?
Luke 21
20“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. 23Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. 24They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
Matt 24
15“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
Dan 11:31
Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall place the abomination that makes desolate.

These forces are the 'people of the prince to come' in Dan 9:26.

As someone else pointed out, the temple that is defiled is the body
1 Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

2 Thess 2
9The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Rev 18:23
and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.
that word 'sorcery' is the Greek 'pharmakia' which is related to our word for 'pharmaceuticals' - drugs. Drugs that deceive.

Watch for an army that is dispensing drugs in Mystery Babylon (the UN handing out vaccines in the USA).

These forces are the 'people of the prince to come' in Dan 9:26.

A good post, but I take exception with your 11:31 "fulfillment". You've taken this verse out of context. If you can't start at 11:1 and arrive to 11:31, then you have no basis for your assertion, -- and I KNOW that there's virtually NO ONE who can correct traverse this Chapter, ESPECIALLY NOT THE COMMENTATORS who defied the angel's instructions in 12:4 & 9.

So unless you're that ONE in a MILLION, you might consider sticking to what you DO understand, and waiting for the CORRECT fulfillments of:

8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to the one that spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the continual burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled under foot?”

9:27 .. and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

11:31 Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the continual burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate.

... and as you search, please be aware that 8:13 & 11:31 were fulfilled in 1986; and only 9:27 is pending!

I sometimes wear glasses, but still, I'd be happy to discuss it with you if you don't have an axe to grind, like DP Martin? My view of the Olivet Discourse does not arise from a doctrinal position, but rather, from a choice between a variety of interpretations. I've held to several different views over the last few decades. I have strong arguments for the position I now hold. Try me!
