This is an interesting idea, for John the B was indwelt by the Spirit from within his mother's womb, Elizabeth. And how about king David, who was being taught, by the Spirit, even from within the "secret place?"
Psalm 51:6 NIV - "Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place."
If Christ lifted the Curse and Adam and Eve from a person's soul, where is the need for repentance? - Truly, we have an amazing Bible. There is so much to consider and think about . . . our Bible is amazing. :)
So you believe it's ok to commit fornication and adultery and to steal and to lie and to covet your neighbors wife and goods, and gossip and slander, and back bite, and murder, and don't worry about loving God, that's the first law..we just toss them all down the toilet??Ahhh . . . but what if the Law has been removed by Christ? Can we sin against a Law if there is no Law to break? For example, can we break the speed limit if there is no speed limit to break?
Romans 4:15 KJV - "Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression."
Oh . . . this Bible is unbelievable, isn't it?

Under the Old Covenant there was no room for mercy and forgiveness.
Thank you,As I read the Word of God, I see that God gives Himself all the room He desires for Grace, Mercy and Compassion . . . especially in the Old Testament. And what is this Grace, Mercy, and Compassion? It is the Circumcision of Christ as described in Colossians 2:9-15.
And David, the Father of Jesus, enacted the life of Christ, who made Himself an example for all to follow. Check this out . . .
1 Peter 2:21-23 NKJV - "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth"; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed [Himself] to Him who judges righteously . . ."
But wait! Was Jesus the Example for us all to follow in this Grace and Mercy, or was Jesus following the Example of His Old Testament Father, David?
2 Samuel 16:5-13 NKJV - "Now when King David came to Bahurim, there was a man from the family of the house of Saul, whose name [was] Shimei the son of Gera, coming from there. He came out, cursing continuously as he came. 6 And he threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David. And all the people and all the mighty men [were] on his right hand and on his left. 7 Also Shimei said thus when he cursed: "Come out! Come out! You bloodthirsty man, you rogue! 8 "The LORD has brought upon you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned; and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son. So now you [are caught] in your own evil, because you are a bloodthirsty man!" 9 Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, "Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please, let me go over and take off his head!" 10 But the king said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the LORD has said to him, 'Curse David.' Who then shall say, 'Why have you done so?' " 11 And David said to Abishai and all his servants, "See how my son who came from my own body seeks my life. How much more now [may this] Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse; for so the LORD has ordered him. 12 "It may be that the LORD will look on my affliction, and that the LORD will repay me with good for his cursing this day." 13 And as David and his men went along the road, Shimei went along the hillside opposite him and cursed as he went, threw stones at him and kicked up dust."
Yep . . . Jesus was imitating His Father, king David. - Pretty amazing, isn't it? :)
And there is more . . .
Hosea 6:6 NKJV - "For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."
Matthew 9:13 NKJV - "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
Matthew 12:7 NKJV - "But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless."
Mercy has always been the Plan of God, and we actually see Jesus referencing this fact from the Book of Hosea, above (twice in the Gospel of Matthew). Maybe I'm wrong, but my Bible translations seem pretty clear to me. In fact, I cannot deny what is clearly stated.
I don't see Jesus imitating David so much as David was imitating the Lord. David had the Law, he wrote the Psalms, and there were many Prophets in his days. David was a man after the Lord's own heart, and God loved him. He made known to David through the books of Moses, what he expected of man. And David imperfect as he was tried to please God the best we all try to do. David didn't succeed. He fell into sin many times. As I read the Word of God, I see that God gives Himself all the room He desires for Grace, Mercy and Compassion . . . especially in the Old Testament. I been called zaggy and soggy, it's all good lol
I'm working on a study this morning about the fourth day when God created the lights in the heavens, to give light upon the earth.
I like the KJV because I can find the same words in both the OT and the NT
