No, you must question everything, idle faith is worthless and even detrimental.
You have to try and understand why the resurrections occurred, what it signifies and what it precipitates, thus, the miracle aspect will not be an obstacle. I assume that it is not a lack of faith in the supernatural that is causing this impediment in your belief, but rather understanding how this event finds its definition in the Gospel of Christ?

I hear you and totally get what you're saying. I believe that it is important that as humans transcribe the original text, it is us who mess things up. The original text is what is Holy and Inspired; not necessarily the Bible that you hold in your hands.

Also, it is important to realize that there is a Plan that is outlined in the Bible. If we come to know, understand, and begin to track that Plan within the Bible, we will recognize that we ought not concern ourselves with the minutia . . . details about things that are irrelevant. For example, we cannot believe that there is "Freedom in Christ" if women must remain silent in Church. Gosh, I could point out all kinds of issues with the teachings found within this book, but those are mere human issues, and not issues that are Spiritual.

Yes, a combination of them all that give multiple perspectives, and thus, a comprehensive view. Keep in mind, each account is not obligated to give full details, in other words, the authors intent dictated what he decided to include. Meaning that ultimately, as you see, they all conclude the same thing - they all corroborate with each other in proclaiming the full Gospel message. Therefore, the lack of unanimity with the details, is not a sign of contradiction nor contention.

Hi Stuart, your above two quotes seems to me, to be the issue at hand - you have found a way to reconcile a Christian's salvation without his resurrection.
It's good that you have attempted to understand the Gospel and the Atonement, and thus are able to justify your faith. But, of course, sincerity and study is no guarantee for truth, and thus, don't be surprised if your expected outcome of receiving God's grace, does not transpire as intended.

Again, strongly consider what others have said about the reason behind the resurrection, and how it fits into God's plan of salvation. If you can competently contend their position, then you can only be convicted of what you understand. But, if they make sense, and their explanation glorifies God and Christ, and can justify that there is no hope for man if Christ was not both raised from the dead and ascended into heaven, it would be hard to refute on your part, and would challenge and undermine your current view of the Atonement and faith of a Christian.

I confess that i am not totally convinced that Jesus was resurrected, i would like to believe that but i seem to not have a strong enough faith as to believe that it could happen, i question its validity but i realise that he was a great man and i still believe he was the son of God, I believe most of the Word but the Resurrection is hard to digest for me.

Then you need to meet Him.

I tend to accept what is written in God's word without question, and if it is written that He was raised from the grave, and ascended into heaven, then I believe it.

The four gospel accounts are written with different objectives in view, not known to the writers themselves, but only to the One Who inspired them to write them. The Holy Spirit bringing to the minds of the writer those things that he would have them write. I like to look at all four, and compare the differences, for they each have something to add which the other lacks. That is for a purpose, and we must not doubt that God intended it so. For us, these differences are intended to make us pause and consider and learn by them. He wants us to have the joy of discovery. We are His children and joy is what He wants for us. His word therefore is a living word, full of delight and inspiration, revealing more and more of Himself.

I have always believed Jesus died and came back from the dead but not on the cross, i believe his holy spirit is alive and well and doing its work in our hearts, a forever presence, Omnipotent.
