Nope. Humility is the opposite of works.then it’s works salvation?
Already answered with lots of Scripture. Can either one of you show me where the BIBLE tells us that the "Invisible" Church is the TRUE Church?
Because, as @theefaith pointed out - Matt 5:14 says that Christ's Church is a VISIBLE entity that cannot be "invisible":
Matt 5:14
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill CANNOT be hid."
I'll wait right here for an answer from either one of you . . .
Nope. Humility is the opposite of works.
Is a symbolic action after salvation.
sooo you wanna try and answer the questions or do you just want to repeat more theories?I've been learning scripture all my life. You really aren't listening because you, like so many, think your sect is "it"... the chosen ones. You are picking out verses with no understanding. You want to believe all those pedophile priests in your church are part of God's true church? No, they are showing that they never knew him. People like that exist in every denomination. That's why I say the true church isn't any sect.
I never suggested your straw man argument that Protestant sects don’t preach against doing good. Some of those sects preach if you have faith you will automatically do good works and be saved. Scripture teaches opposite of that. I will repeat what Paul said 2,000 years ago: You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?Only works done from love matter. I never said true good works aren't rewarded. But you are trying to ignore what Scripture says... Many will do all manner of good work and never be saved. They think they are doing them for God, but really it's only for a reward. It's actually selfishness dressed up to look like faith.
The Protestants don't preach against doing good. They just do not depend on it to save them.
WOW...You partially quote me and scripture to make your point. How sad...Romans11:6And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.
That's exactly what you have been arguing against.
James says that a person's faith is perfected or completed by the kind of works that the faith produces. He shows that it is the kind of faith that Abraham had that made the real difference and brought about justification. Justification is entirely an act on God's part, but the kind of faith that brings about justification is the same kind that also brings about good works. It is not our works that save us, but only those who are "working" in the right way will be saved because their works will be indicative of what they truly believe in.
Now, not all works are plainly visible to everyone. In fact we are told to not boast about our good deeds.
Matt 6:1“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
Jesus says a good tree will produce good fruit. The fruit is indicative of what kind of tree we are.
It must be in the Bible. A Protestant told me it wasbam? Really?
where is this in the Bible?
Where’s the sinners prayer in the Bible?
What about the promise of the father?
Yes but it has to be Catholic?
Why would it?
So far on the church test on a score out of 10, you hut -10how have Been doing?
Can you point me to the post?Already answered with lots of Scripture.
Choosing to surrender isn't working, obviously. Having faith isn't a work..who would think it was?you don’t choose to be humble?
Volition an act was of the will?
Baptismal regeneration is a false teaching that creates false converts. The baptism the Spirit is what matters. As Peter says, the water doesn't save.Ive heard that! Now show me that in scripture?
that also makes baptism meaningless and rejects baptismal regeneration
1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Why would it? I have no idea what you mean.sooo you wanna try and answer the questions or do you just want to repeat more theories?
How can The Church be invisible if we are to go to the Church to settle our differences (Matthew 18:17)??????
I realize that question and that passage from scripture stumps you and destroys your theory but can you at least TRY to clarify your beliefs?
First, that was James, not Paul. Of course, we are to be doers. Faith WILL express itself. What does this have do with works salvation?I never suggested your straw man argument that Protestant sects don’t preach against doing good. Some of those sects preach if you have faith you will automatically do good works and be saved. Scripture teaches opposite of that. I will repeat what Paul said 2,000 years ago: You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?
be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
Sinners should not pray for God to save them? The tax collector who humbled himself and prayed for God's mercy was justified. It must be in the Bible. A Protestant told me it was
Uhhhhh, no - post #1040 is by @FHII and it it has nothing to do with this question.#1040
