Sometimes I wonder why I beat myself up so much for being a sinner when that's the whole entire reason Jesus was born in the first place. I'm just too hard on myself. I think that's the reason. I'm harder on myself than God is on me.
We are called to be Holy....settling for anything less is where Satan wants you to be.

Amen, I often ask myself why do I continue in a sinful nature after my own lust, but I thank the LORD that He has given us the Grace to not continue in that sinful nature.

But when that thought come I bring it unto the obedience of Christ.

Have you read the posts by Gideons300 in his thread 'A last word spoken with love and tears'? ...well worth the effort.

Not sure if it relates to Gideons' post, but just want to put it out there that right now is probably a good time for all Christians to self-examine and make a sincere effort to start turning away from worldly idolatries before something happens.

Not trying to sound legalistic but just saying right now is probably a really good time for people to work on things like that, including me. Like that's probably super important right now for this time that we're living in and the future

The call is out there....'come out of her my people' It's talking about a system that compromises and misrepresents God in overt and covert ways as per the working of Satan, cunning, baffling and slipperier than grease.

@FluffyYellowDuck, what genres have you preferred to play (on your guitar)?
I like modern neoclassical and classical. I like Ludovico Einaudi, Max Richter, Fransisco Tárrega (never made it through Capricho árabe) and Mozart. Things like that :) I like fingerpicking.

Yann Tiersen! If I had the patience. Which apparently I don't. lol

An example from someone who plays much better than me.

After becoming a true practicing Christian, did you ever feel like there were things that you used to love (music, movies, whatever) that you can no longer stand?

I was going through some old music to get some feelings because I'm all out and I couldn't resonate to any of the old stuff besides a few songs from The Civil Wars and a couple other things. The rest just feels dead.

That's probably a good thing but I'm craving some kind of "passion" or "creativity" that feels pretty stolen away from me probably because I can't play guitar right now. Not like I'm good or anything, but that was like my outlet that couldn't be taken away, because I'd rather die than look at a paintbrush and I'd rather listen to a fork in a blender for seven hours than write anything creative.
I get the music thing. Just now and again I'll listen to some good ole passionate southern rock from groups like Blackfeet or Lynyrd Skynyrd. But I will never pretend any of it is Christian... And I don't listen to Christian rock. Anachronism. I listen to southern rock when I'm in the mood for raw real heart blues and passion.

That's the goal! Acoustic guitar and 10-string lyre. Not very good at the lyre yet, but needed something I could carry around easily without it taking up a bunch of space.

Some Christian bands that I used to love (Red, Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, etc) I can't even listen to now because it doesn't feel like worship.. Know what you mean about writing. I kind of feel like I was unintentionally "channeling" something dark when I used to write by sort of meditating/spacing out to music and whatever came to mind. Whatever it was it wasn't good. I didn't realize it at the time, but whatever I was doing was really similar to automatic writing.

Haven't written anything in about four years now, except 1-2 Christian themed poems stuffed and buried in an Evernote account not to be looked at again.

I still love writing, and role play type formats. If you ever want to try a Christian rpg story, I think you would be great to write with. Trying to renew my mind in writing, because I really do love writing stories.

lol....Jacob had probably had a few too many sherbies not to pick up that it wasn't Rachel in the cot..... Leah shared Laban's guilt because because she didn't say boo.....good reason for Jacob to have a resentment. Now Jacob had two wives. I dunno what happened after that but he ended up doing the wild thing with his wifes servant girls and ended up with a couple more wifes....four in total. Now that's more than any reasonable man can handle!

I read Leah literally had like a deformity, so back in the day it would have been very hard for her to marry. That was not right still, but found that interesting

the scripture said Leah had weak eyes....whatever that might mean. Perhaps if she lived today a pair of spectacles could have remedied her malady.
