II Thessalonians 2:3-4
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

When II Thess 2 is attempted to be taught, they seem to forget this -
I Cor 3:
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

the 1 cor passage is in relation to the true temple

the thesselonians is in reference to the OT prophecy of the abomination of desolation and the man of sin setting himself up in the temple as a future event.

we should not trey to compare these two as they are not related.

You follow the company line well. What a distortion.

Read it, it says, "HE SITTETH". No span of geological time involved at all.

There are only two men - the Old Man and New Man.
Can't take much for the spiritual mind to figure it out.

The phrase "son of perdition" 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is the same one used in John 17:12 in reference to Judas. It is a person.

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” — John 17:12 (KJV)

The word translated "perdition" is this:

G684 Greek: ἀπώλεια Transliteration: apṓleia Pronunciation: ap-o'-li-a ---------- Description: from a presumed derivative of ἀπόλλυμι(G622); ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal): Translation: damnable(-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste. KJV usage: perdition (8x), destruction (5x), waste (2x), damnable (1x), to die (with G1519) (1x), perish (with G1498) (with G1519) (1x), pernicious (1x).

And it states, "Who SITTETH (present tense) in the temple of God" -
Is Judas sitting in your temple?

Actually I take the word of God as spoken

in the OT it says the man of sin will sin in the temple. Placing himself against agod. It is a prophecy of a physical event which will take place in the future

my body being the temple is a spiritual fact, and has nothing to do with the antichrist or the temple in Jerusalem.

company line? Can you back of the sarcasm please. We are here to discuss not tear each other down

Yes
Judas was a son of perdition.

the antichrist will also bear this name. As Satan will enter him also.

I believe the antichrist will not only be an embodiment, but the actual son (offspring) of satan ...a nephilim, a direct opposite of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (As it was in the days of Noah...)

I believe Antichrist will be a man, a world leader, who comes out of the people who destroyed the temple and city, and just like Judas, Satan will enter him

Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. A nephilim is nothing like that, my I ask why you think this?

I'm noticing everyone has their own thoughts, without addressing the clear language of the texts.

No one has dealt with the OP head on.

I never said anything about an antichrist or temple in geographical jerusalem, did I?

How long? when you decide him not to control your life, for than man of sin is you, for sin was condemne in the flesh. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."
2 Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
2 Thessalonians 2:12 "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

Galatians 5:16 "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
Galatians 5:17 "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

How long will the Old Sin Nature be residing? If this is your question forgive me, although again 2 thess 2 is talking about a physical temple anc a physical world leader as shown in the OT, so my comment there still stands

if this is your question, then it will be there until I am glorified or resurrected,

until then I always have to be weary of him,

That's the company-line, yet actually reading it, it says,
"WHO SITTETH IN THE TEMPLE" -
Why are you ignoring verse 4?
The Old Sin Nature is the Old Man - The man of lawlessness.

How can anyone but the Man of Lawlessness miss it?
lol

Yes and No.
The 'You' I confess, is the New Man, since I have the "testimony of Jesus" - Rev 12:11.
The New Man will destroy the Old Man; the Man of Lawlessness -
II Thess 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

It's all internal.

I am not Ignoring vs 4

why are you trying to pull a passage out of context?

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

And this man is first mentioned in Dan 7

19 “Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet; 20 and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.

21 “I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.

this is the same person.

your context in thess is off, that is a physical person. Ot the old sin nature,

Satan sitting in the church showing he's god? Seems like a stretch to me.

You could just as well say Satan sit's in the temple in heaven. It seems to me just as unlikely.

I don't see God sharing His living space the Satan.

(editting . . . realizing that wasn't what you seem to mean . . .)

Much love!
