Another fact about salvation that people should be very fearful about is, people can lose the saving grace given to them by God.
Because God very seriously warned people in the Bible, that if people do not obey and act out his commands, then on judgement day, their salvation will be taken away from them, and their ending will be like the endings of evil wicked people, which is to be thrown into the eternal hellfire of torment.

Because God said, to those people who love him, by obeying and acting out his commandments, he will treat them with kindness and mercy.
But to those people who are rebellious, who loves lies more than the truth, and who does not want to obey and act out his commands, he will treat them with anger and punishment like the way he will treat evil wicked people.

Not a Calvin fan, huh?

[25] Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, [26] but you do not believe because you are not part of my flock. [27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. [28] I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. [29] My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. [30] I and the Father are one.”
( John 10:25-30 ESV)

No one can pull us away from Salvation. And if one who claims to have been saved turns away, perhaps we should question the true state of their heart all along. But you seem to be saying that a Christian, through their own sin and folly, can lose what was a gift, purchased and given by Christ. Which is essentially saying that someone, something, can be more powerful and resolute than the blood and work of Christ. Christians sin. We should strive daily to put it to death, but until that blessed time when Jesus returns, we will not be perfect. Jesus says above that if a person is truly His, truly part of His flock, saved and redeemed, then no one...even their own sin natures, can tear them away from that gift.

The idea that you can lose your salvation makes God sound unreliable. The fact is, you have to renounce it in order to 'lose' it.

I hope you don't mind me saying this buddy... but...THE HUGE TYPE THING IS KIND OF ANNOYING... IT REMINDS ME OF THE CRAZY PEOPLE YOU SEE DRIVING AROUND IN CARS WITH HUGE LETTERS ALL OVER IT THAT SAY JESUS IS COMING BACK ON A CERTAIN DATE... PLEASE TYPE IN NORMAL LETTERS SO IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE YOUR A TEACHER WRITING BIG LETTERS ON THE CHALKBOARD TELLING US SOMETHING LIKE DON'T CHEW GUM!!! From what I've seen most the people on here are pretty intelligent and don't need huge fonts in order to get your point...

Haha, the reason why i typed in large fonts is because i am afraid people would miss reading things i added later on. Because this forum does not allow us to edit our posts. So i am afraid if someone just read my first post then did not read things i added later then i might mislead them into just knowing half of what i wrote.

Lastsecman,

I have a question, in your opinion, what does it mean to be sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the Day of redemption? ( Eph 4:30)

second question.. What are you trusting in for your Salvation? Are you trusting in the free gift of Jesus Christ's sacrificial work on the cross, or once being made clean by the cross, you are trusting in your own ability not to sin?

That's cool lastsecman... just thought I'd let you know how it feels to me... it's a common perception in typing that when you use larger fonts or all caps that you're yelling... so I personally can't even read what you write when you write like that because it just sounds LOUDin my head like someone's yelling while typing... haha... just an FYI buddy...

1. To obey the spirit

2. We have salvation. But we need to hold on to it by obeying and carrying out God's commandments or else we'd lose it.

Well I assure it is not necessary and it actually appears to be loud and rude. Please refrain from using it in the future.

I agree with you and so did the Christian Church before the Reformation. People like Calvin came along and convinced people it was not necessary to obey God. Well that gave all those who did not come to know God the freedom to live life any way they wanted.

You said the right thing, but never post differently then the rest. If people can’t find fault with what you say they will look for anything to put you down.

"If you search for him, he will let himself be found by you; but if you leave him, he will leave you".-2 Chronicles 15:2

"When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies because of the iniquity which he has committed, he will die.- Ezekiel 18:26

"Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called today, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end."- Hebrews 3:12-14

"But the Holy Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons". 1 Timothy 4:1

God will not drive you to losing your salvation you decide to walk away from it. Salvation is a gift that has freely been given to all of us but we havt to daily walk into it. Taken upon the cross of Christ daily and lving a holy and righteous life in God. It should upset you if you say your in Jesus and continue to sin willingly! Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled-- Hebrews 12:14-15 Living a holy and righteous life is the way we should live for Christ. He died for us and the least he requires us to do is live holy! Not self righteous or holier than thou which is by works but holiness in doing good works as the fruit and evidence of your faith!

Your implying that someone using large lettering is crazy to me is very insulting. Large lettering is easer for some older people to read, and it has nothing to do with intelligence.

There are very good reasons to use large Fonts. For one it gets people’s attention, and also helps some see what is written.

I believe you owe some one an apology.

Hey Thankful, it's not so much the size of the font....but can you honestly read that??? It's all overlapping, almost impossible to read, don't you think? I think that's what Robbie was pointing out.
And it is a considered etiquette thing online, that if one types in bold or capitals, that one IS shouting....Robbie didn't make it up, it just is. Pointing this out isn't wrong or rude, he was just trying to be helpful, let lastsecman know about it in case that's not how he wanted to come across.

Here you go thankful1... now you can owe me and apology... haha...

"Common rules for e-mail[sup]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette#cite_note-6[/sup] and USENET such as avoiding flamewars and spam are constant across most mediums and communities. Another rule is to avoid typing in all caps or grossly enlarging script for emphasis, which is considered to be the equivalent of shouting or yelling."

Implyingsome one is crazy is insulting, and if what you say about bold is true, then heinsulted the person twice.

By the way where is it written the using large font is insulting? Whose rules does one need to post by? Does this forum have such a rule?

Whoa! Take a step back! You say it's wrong to insult a person, but you've pretty much just jumped on Robbie, and then me.
Maybe using the word crazy was hurtful (you'd have to ask lastsecman), but the truth is, anyone who yells all the time is seen as someone who is highly intense! There are ways of getting an important idea or message across without yelling!
The thing about etiquette, is that its not a law...on this board, or in society in general. It's not illegal for you to go to dinner at someone's house...dump the food they give you on the floor to eat it. But having done that, they're not going to give you much time...listen to what you say etc.
All Robbie was doing, I suspect, was letting lastsecman know his writing was hard to read, and that people tend to shy away from reading something that is considered shouting. That's actually really helpful advice...I know I'd sure appreciated it if I hadn't already known.

Please don't get angry when insult is truly not intended!

T1 couldn't possibly have been angry. He said he doesn't sin.

OK simmer down people! lol

God is faithful; we are not.

Jesus died for us, just so we could be reconciled with Him.

My wife only married me and I do not wake up every morning wondering if she is going to leave me, why would I worry about Jesus leaving me?
