Is trying to save 'everyone' working, or do we need to start praying "save the nations, Lord!"? (discerning?)

Hi there,

So clearly we need to pray "Lord be willing to save" and we need to pray "Lord of the Harvest, send workers!", but what about the idea that Salvation is for 'everyone'? Jesus said "I have kept every one but the son of perdition" - doesn't that suggest that sweeping attempts at harvesting souls, is not what God had in mind?

I think the answer, is that the Holy Spirit will stand for the Governments of the nations. He - the Holy Spirit - will be an example to the nations. In other words, our prayers will be more effective, if we humble ourselves a little and say "Lord, if you are willing: who of the nations, do you want saved?". No one will hear the call of God, if we don't identify that God knows who they specifically are (that God knows the nation their heart was formed for). If we have a burden for the nations, we are saying "I agree with God, that it is the nations specifically, that need to be saved first".

To be fair, I am looking at this from an Australian perspective - nations are very dear to us; but I am also aware that the Holy Spirit, when He comes, will come to Australia (that's prophecy - the 'Land without bars') - Lord willing. But I am also aware, that other nations can learn from Australia's inclusive spirit. I'm not saying you are wrong, if you think you can save 'everyone', but ask yourself this "why does the Bible say 'let every man be a liar, but God be true'?" - is it because God personally wants to save everyone? Or is it because God wants to make Salvation appealing to everyone, but specifically unmistakeable to those who are called?

Imagine if we did 'save everyone', would God stop talking to us? Would He expect us to have faith from then on?

I think what I have done here is try to point out, that the Devil can easily undermine us, if we are trying to do everything (note the difference between 'everything' and 'everyone', they are a lot closer than you might think!).

God bless.

We don't save anybody. Only Jesus Christ saves sinners. That is why He is called the Saviour. We don't "harvest souls" either. Remember what Jesus said when He explained the parable of the wheat and the tares:

NKJV Mat 13:39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.

I don't understand why you ask whether God would expect us still to have faith if everybody was saved. "Everybody" includes us, so if everybody were to be saved, that would mean we were saved, too. How are we saved? By believing, or having faith in, the Lord Jesus Christ. Why would our faith depend on whether other people are saved or not?

our faith is not dependant upon , thus our salvation is not dependant upon the faith of another man or woman .
IT is as you said BY FAITH IN JESUS THE CHRIST .
The only condemantion one has is they WILL NOT come to THIS CHRIST JESUS who is THE LIGHT
because their deeds are evil and they do not want correction .
And now a word .
This is of ten why ALSO many in even christendom sit under another jesus .
Because while its true they do desire salvation , they desire also something wicked , and that is
a jesus that will pander to the sins they so love and preach the lie they so love .
And that jesus will save none . WHY , because IT AINT JESUS , thus it never was JESUS they came too .
SO on that note remember
JESUS is not the minstir of any sin , AND that darn sure includes UNBELEIF .
Remember that the next time you see certain rainbows getting exalted and the love of money being taught
and my my my , when you see and hear THE LIE of the all inclusive ecumeincal intefaith
interreligous dialgoue , WHICH CLEARLY DENEID the gospel of YE must beleive on JESUS
as it sold a LIE that all religoins serve the same GOD a christain does . Anti christ and its peace plan .
And this wee sheep REFUSES To sit at t hat table of compromise but must and will EXPOSE IT ALL .

We who belong to Christ are only CO HELPERS to THE TRUTH by the power of the indwelling Spirit .
Meaning we speak the truth , and yes it means the correction of sins , errors and lies as well .
But we cannot save , we are only co helpers by the Spirit to the TRUTH
by which if one does beleive THEY SHALL be saved .
One plants and another waters , BUT IT IS GOD who giveth the increase .
SO who is he who plants and he who waters , SIMPLY laborers of GOD by the SPIRIT
who do that which pleases God and spreads ONLY TRUTH and never a lie .

Here is an example of the Love of GOD which rejoices ONLY IN THE TRUTH and not in inquity .
THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO GOD , HIS NAME IS JESUS and to be saved YE MUST BELEIVE ON HIM .
Now here is an example of a harlots love which rejoices in a lie which is inquity ,
OH all RELIGOINS are coming to and serve the same GOD a christian does . Just coming in different ways . THAT A LIE
IT IS NOT THE LOVE OF GOD .
HERE is the LOVE OF GOD
that we KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and His commandments are not grievious .
AND what HAS HE commanded all to do
TO BELEIVE on JESUS CHRIST and to love one another .
ANY time sin and inquity is included in the love of GOD , IT IS A LIE and NOT OF GOD
ANYTIME UNBLEIEF is allowed , IT IS NOT THE LOVE OF GOD but is of the darkness .
GOD the FATHER nor THE SON support ANY SIN , NOR A LIE , NOR CAN GOD LIE .
TRUTH .
TRUTH .
And now a word about THE TRUE CHARITY , LOVE , OF GOD .
IT rejoices IN THE TRUTH , IN THE TRUTH , NOT A LIE , BUT IN THE TRUTH .
And it darn sure does not behave itself unseemingly .
LIkewise did the men leave the natural use of the woman and burned in t heir lusts one towards another
working that which IS UNSEEMINGLY . Oh david , WE ALL are being lied to
by the all inclusive god and his ecumeincal harlots love call . But the sheep DO NOT buy a harlots love .

Now lift those hands and praise the glorious Lord .
.....or, as the hymn Angel Voices Ever Singing says in one verse:

In Thy house, great God, we offer
Of Thine own to Thee,
And for Thine acceptance proffer,
All unworthily,
Hearts and minds and hands and voices
In our choicest
Psalmody.
