Yeah. And I know a Christian guy who really does believe the earth is flat! Go figure!Maybe so @marks but ...but..so MANY are believing Christian and they have fallen for it too ...hook line and sinker!!
When one has the media peddle it 24/7 and some of it sticks, if you don't know any better.
What % would a city person know anyway about bushland. I have seen them stop when the road became a dirt road , I said what are you doing ? he must of thought that he was coming close to the edge of the world, he totally refused to go any further. not to mention that he thought that the Law out past the city was like the Dukes of Hazard, truly ! they live in a fantasy world, not to mention watch too much TV and can not cope with reality very well.
One could say that they live in some sort of cage like some sort of pet and can't truly think for themselves as their schooling not to mention that many work place does not permit that as well. they become drones in sector 7b or gastropods.

A Change.org petition to "de-register the Greens" that had over 34,000 signatures was taken down yesterday due to death threats against the author. The lefties always fight fair, don't they. Death threats. I think they've killed enough.
Anyway, hoping very much that no fires come your way. Stay safe. We just saw our towns fire-truck scooting off like no ones business. It's hard to know if that means a local grass fire or if they've been called away again. If the Lord would send soothing rain! In his time, I suppose.

Many of those who do haven't had an original thought in their heads. They parrot what they've had fed to them in school or University and then nice little homes with other parrots who like to squawk loudly about how we're 'dooooomed'! Original thinking scares them more than the end of the world.

The police are looking for 57 arsonists, you know those people that are causing climate change that burns the bush.
It has been discovered that several of the pictures showing the fires are fake. They are from previous years' fires. One showed a collision between two fire trucks. This happened in 2015.
Scammers are trying to extract money from people that are supposedly for the bush fire victims.
407 fires across NSW have been lit by arsonists.
The good and the bad. A realization has happened that the cause of the fires is mainly locked up forests strewn with deadwood and which no one can get into.
The bad is that Daniel Andrews the socialist premier of Victoria has ruled that all forests in Victoria are to be locked up by 2030 so they will become fodder for the arsonists. The bloke is Australia's number one idiot as ideology is more important to him than reality.

And more importantly Naomi there is a battle going on to silence the truth which is the province of the churches mainly so they do not want to give them any kudos for knowing what is right and what is wrong. As they say, you never ruin a good story by telling the truth.
While I listened to aTV interview (yes, after several years without one decided to hook it up... For the news only... Of course) with a professor of fire, (can't remember the flash word they used but fire gets the idea across) from Tasmania University who said that the he could not recollect any time in history where the greens had stopped hazard reduction activities in Forestry. Mmmm

And the Greens deny they had anything to do with the fires and their demand to lock up all the forests to people and which most people do not believe.
P.S. If he is a professor of fire does that mean he is a hothead?

When the greens and the polys give up there cars, there plane trips there free travel, there electricty, computers laptops phones, than I might listen to them right now there all just hot air.

for what its worth, living in the tropics has definitely seen the seasons change. Dryer for longer, wetter for longer, extremes in rainfall, extremes in heat. The foreshore where I am is being eroded. Since I first came here in the early eighties, what was the edge of the forest is now sand; large trees undermined by exceptionally high tides and violent waves. Creeks that flowed all year are being reduced to a trickle if even that. Deep clear waterhole levels are dropping and the water going stagnant due to no flow. What ever else you might call it, I can't escape the reality of the climate changing.

I'm praying for the poor people and animals being affected by the fires. It sounds horrific.
Could the record temperatures be the reason some people believe in climate change? I don't know how January this year will wind up; but January 2019 was the hottest since records have been kept.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the extreme heat was "unprecedented" during the country's summer period.
At least five January days were among the 10 warmest on record, with daily national temperature highs of 40C.

What astonishes me is how certain some people are that global warming is a myth. They are so sure they're willing to bet their lives on it. I call that wishful thinking. So keep making wishes and building your houses a few feet from the bush, folks. It'll be okay.
Ignoring safety would be bad enough if global warming is a myth. It could be even worse if the general trend is up for temperatures in Australia. Wind patterns also need to be studied. If there really is climate change, it could affect wind patterns and thus rainfall too.
I saw a photo of houses built next to the bush. I wondered why people would do it. It reminded me of the people in California who seem to like to live close to fire hazards. Why aren't towns surrounded by farms? Could some of the bush be converted to agriculture and planted with species that don't pose a fire hazard if there's little rain? If that's not feasible, are there native plants that would grow in hot and dry places but not pose a fire hazard?
Climate change or no climate change, how people build their houses probably needs to change. Don't blame God or the Devil too much.
Here is a chart that I found at the BBC of average annual temperatures in Australia from 1910 to 2017 as compared to long term average. You should be able to see that the general trend has been up.

The are certainly some strange goings on with regards climate. I remember that the swimming season in New Zealand in my hometown of Napier when a youngster, began in October. As life guards... Surf Life savers... We began beach patrols at that time due to the crowds increasing... Labour weekend was the normal marker... Late October. The final weekend was Easter, around March. Over the years I have noticed however that at least for me, there is now no way I could comfortably swim in October, as the season seems to be not really warning up until December, and certainly the sea is still wintery child in October now. Conversely, the summer continues now later than previous... April and even may can be quite warm still, and braver souls than i might still be swimming in the ocean at that time.Could the record temperatures be the reason some people believe in climate change? As far as here in Australia in concerned, I came here for the warm weather, so all I can say is, bring it on. But yeah, there may be a price to pay for that, and common sense ought to prevail. Warm here today...34, and was the same yesterday, and expected to be similar next week. The current mean temperature for January in Melbourne is 27c. That will perhaps rise as the month progresses, but not by much. Melbourne however has a lower average than the bulk of the rest of Australia being in the South. But getting warmer by one degree or maybe two.. Is that really the catastrophic end of world scenario the climate activists are trying to convince us of? And even the bigger question... Is it really Mankinds fault by releasing CO2 creating a greenhouse? Personally, I am far from convinced...
CO2 is an integral part of the air we breath but a very small portion (0.04%) of it. But it is absolutely essential for plant life on earth, since plants photsynthesize it for their nutrients. It also dissolves into seawater and soil, but it has seriously been measured only since 1950 (and has increased since then).
But to claim that the increase in CO2 has caused changes in the climate, a lot of BOGUS studies have been done and published by *scientists* who have become propagandists.
