    But it certainly sounds like verse 31 is saying that they honestly believed on Him, doesn't it? It doesn't strike me as being nefarious at all. Like, they believed in Him because He had just preached to them and the word was sown into their hearts. That's what it sounds like to me.

    I just assumed it would be in chronological order because in Matthew it says he was in Jerusalem iirc but then how would He be in Jerusalem at the start of John?
