Catholic tradition, not the Bible, teaches a change to Sundaykeeping.

Constantine did make it official. But Sunday worship -- the Lord's Day (so called because he was thought to have risen from the dead that day) -- was not a Roman invention. Nearly two centuries before Constantine legislated it into an official day of rest, chapter 67 of Justin Martyr's First...

I wouldn't use the word "Roman" here. The early church developed a consensus for Sunday worship. Nothing particularly Roman about that occurrence.

There is only one true church

Two things. First, what the Thessalonians were told orally or in writing (and neither one of us have any idea whether the perpetual virginity of Mary was included) may be far from what the RCC now teaches as apostolic tradition. That's not to say the RCC is wrong. (A different subject.) But...

Catholic tradition, not the Bible, teaches a change to Sundaykeeping.

I agree in part, but I have a different view on whether a bona fide calendar mistake "insults God." Keeping holy every seventh day, whether it is a Saturday or a Sunday, is what God demands of us. That some of us may have mixed up which day of the week was intended to be set aside -- and I am...

    Rapture is false doctrine.

    Thank Christ!

There is only one true church

Either one believes EVERYTHING in Apostolic Tradition, or one is a Sola Scripturist? Is that what you think? That is just nuts! Some things in that tradition are less well attested than others.

Eat my flesh, drink my blood, discerning the body and blood of Christ.

Binding and loosing others' sins -- through the blood of Christ or otherwise -- is quite different from forgiving others' offenses against YOU. The first may aid THEIR salvation. The second aids YOURS.

Eat my flesh, drink my blood, discerning the body and blood of Christ.

It's nice that Paul decided to forgive whomever the Corinthians forgave, for their sake, in the presence of Christ. What's your point?

Eat my flesh, drink my blood, discerning the body and blood of Christ.

Yup, that's what the author of Hebrews said. And here's what Jesus said, in Matt: 6:14: “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” I don't know about you, but I've forgiven lots of offenses without once shedding a drop of blood.

There is such a thing as bloodless forgiveness of sin.

My bad, I thought you were talking about physical death.

Eat my flesh, drink my blood, discerning the body and blood of Christ.

I guess you're having trouble squaring physical death of believers with the promises of Christ. Those who believe that physical death entered the world due to the sin of Adam will always struggle to explain why, after Calvary reversed the curse, humans still die. Those who believe Christ's...

Eat my flesh, drink my blood, discerning the body and blood of Christ.

I won't presume to answer for APAK, but I don't think you are posing the right question, @Marymog. As you know, I am a believer in the Real Presence. But Paul's use of κοινωνίᾳ in 1 Cor. 10:15-16 (which means "communion," "participation," "sharing," "fellowship") allows even nonbelievers in...

Harris says she will take away patent rights so they can take over, she has the will to do it

You guys are aware, I take it, of the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980 and the "march-in" rights it gives the federal government to undermine patents for products developed with government support (such as almost every drug patent, developed with NIH support)? If you aren't, here is a pretty good primer...

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

I'd say it began with Lucifer's fall. But I don't know.

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

I'm not understanding your question, J. Are you asking about the first Biblical instance of recorded "evil" (on any definition of "evil")?

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Are you talking about the origin of the Egyptian sun god? I have the free version of the Logos app.

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Yes, I agree that they were around before Adam and Eve. The Book of Jubilees tells us: "For on the first day He created the heavens which are above and the earth and the waters and all the spirits which serve before him -the malakim of the presence, and the malakim of sanctification, and the...

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Not the answer I expected! Job 38:6-7 suggests that the angels (literally, sons of God) were around, and shouting for joy, when the world was being created.
