She may be referring to John 6: 28." Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29. Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

The Deception of the Teaching of the Trinity

God is a Name: the Name above all names; He has exalted above all things, His Name and His Word; baptizing in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One Name, one God. If you do not worship the Lord Jesus Christ you are worshipping a false god.

What part of the Bible are you studying?

From Luke 10: 17 "Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the...

Hi Old Man. But, what if Catholics are really worshipping a cracker? I'm guessing that the consequence of worshipping a cracker, instead of God, is eternal destruction. The consequence of not treating the bread and wine as God Himself is ...what? An incomplete, inadequate, faulty worship of...

Luke 5, 17-25: " 17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. 18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man...

What part of the Bible are you studying?

From Luke chapter 2: " 41 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem...

    What if you are wrong?

Thanks for your detailed response. I guess the #1 issue to me is the statement: "it never was in her soul." I see, and understand, the reasoning used to conclude that she was without original sin. I reject the authority of your church, though, and so reject the doctrine of the Immaculate...

    What if you are wrong?

The Immaculate Conception. Defined in 1854, I think. And also, I think, this means the Catholic Church considers this doctrine to be a teaching extending back to the start of the Church. Please correct my history if I'm wrong. So, from a Protestant perspective, this doctrine is not only false...

    Do you still sin?

Correct answer is: Yes. This is true for Christian and non-Christian; even the virgin Mary sinned.

Seems to be a poor example. That is a real person I am interacting with on Skype. I'm not interacting with the picture; it really is a live person. Quite different than a picture or statue.

The words I quoted are a doctrine for the Christian church; not my doctrine. And it should be clearly understood by a Christian. I think it is called the "perspicuity of Scripture".

Doctrines are not opinions about God, and they will damn a person. From Mark chapter 7: "6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. 7 And in vain they worship Me...

Can We Honor Jesus Christ Through His Mother Mary? a debate

But, do you need an image of the Lord Jesus in front of you to pray to Him? I don't. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It seems to take more faith to pray without an image in front of me. Weak faith demands an image.
