    How long O Lord

Alright, then can you explain why you yourself would ask “how long” when you know what the answer will be? Do you disbelieve the answer given in Revelation 6:11?

    How long O Lord

Their answer was given after they asked the question and it was relevant to them. That answer is recorded for us in Revelation 6:11 and I believe it is 100% accurate. Luke 21:22 says these are the days of vengeance, which happened in the first century when Jerusalem was sacked.

    How long O Lord

If the answer to the question asked in Revelation 6:10 changes over time then the vision John saw and recorded took place at a specific point in time, prior to the writing of Revelation. If the answer to the questions would be the same if asked today then “little season” has absolutely no meaning.

    How long O Lord

I don’t know if Josephus recorded anything or not but in Luke 23:28-30 Jesus tells the people of Jerusalem to weep for themselves for days were soon to come in which these people of Jerusalem would say to the mountains, Fall on us, and to the hills, Cover us. Which means Revelation 6:15-16 must...

    How long O Lord

I think you are saying everyone who is doing to killing prior to the fifth seal cannot die prior to the sixth seal because that’s the point where the dead peoples blood gets avenged on those who “dwell on the earth”, and to dwell on the earth means to be alive. The two witnesses, in Revelation...

    How long O Lord

I understand that there was famine in Jerusalem during the siege and this is seen in Ezekiel 4. In Ezekiel 4:9-10, Ezekiel is limited to what he can eat and how much he can eat which was the weight of 20 shekels per day. In Revelation 6:6 there is a measure of wheat and 3 measures of barley...

    How long O Lord

Well in Matthew 10:34-36 Jesus said he came not to send peace but a sword to set man at variance against his father … and in Matthew 10:21 brother shall deliver up brother to death and father the child … I agree Jesus didn’t force people to kill each other but if they didn’t kill Him the...

    How long O Lord

Since you are part of the church, why are you going to ask a question that you already know the answer to? And are you planning on asking Jesus questions like how many disciples did you pick or how many days were you in the wilderness after you got baptized?

    How long O Lord

Just as we don’t know the exact date and time of Christ’s birth but we can certainly know it has already happened, so too we can know the question asked at the fifth seal has happened without placing an exact time or date on the event.

    How long O Lord

I know Josephus has something in his writings that people use to refer to the third seal but I’m just not personally convinced that it can refer to a literal famine. The studying that I’ve done leads me to believe that the first four seals are talking about Jesus. For example in Luke 12:51-53...

    How long O Lord

Sounds good, how is a famine of hearing then associated with wheat and barley? Wheat represents believers in the scriptures and being weighed in the balance is seen in Daniel 5:27.

    How long O Lord

The problems with a third seal famine in Revelation 6:5-6. First off, some information on the nutritional value of wheat, barley, olive oil, and grape juice or wine (if grape juice is made into an alcoholic beverage the sugar is what is converted into alcohol). Serving size is 100 grams; all...

    How long O Lord

I’ve looked at that, the thing that makes me question it is that the third seal is always associated with famine, even in many or most commentaries. When I personally examined the third seal I came away with a fairly strong sense that it can’t be famine. I’ll make another post with what I...

    How long O Lord

Thanks for sharing your view on this, I’ve been examining a view, only examining and not convinced, that puts Revelation 12 as one event that’s described in two ways and sees this same pattern also coinciding with the Olivet Discourse. Basically this view sees Revelation 12 as a foreshadow to...

    How long O Lord

Hi Marty, you mentioned Revelation 12, can I get your opinion on the pattern in Revelation 12? In case you’re not familiar here is a summary. Vs 4 Stars of heaven cast to earth Vs 4 devour her child Vs 6 woman fled into wilderness Vs 7 war in heaven between dragon and Michael Vs 9 Dragon...

    How long O Lord

Right, this thread isn’t about the message that the fifth seal is giving nor is it about how or why the souls are under the altar, although I don’t mind talking about those things. This thread is about why they are asking a question (could be any question) when they already know the answer to...
  18. G

    How long O Lord

But it is relevant because it would give us insight as to what happens in heaven. If those who have died 2,000 or more years ago haven’t asked the question yet then they must not be able to read our current Bible or communicate with those who are dead that have read it. Also it would indicate...

    How long O Lord

I don’t disagree with you about us believers being inept while alive on earth but those in Revelation 6:9 are dead, they were slain. We know they are under the altar and some people suggest that this is Sheol, prior to the souls leaving. In Genesis 4:10 Abel’s blood cries unto God from the...

    How long O Lord

Yea, I think a little season is a relatively short time also. So why would those who ask the question in Revelation 6:10 be told to wait a little season when they died prior to the writing of Revelation? Are you saying they died 2,000 or more years ago and they still haven’t asked the question...
