Why do so many Christians vehemently disagree?

I am sorry, But I don't get the same vibe as you do from Willie T. This is after a conversation we had where we clearly disagreed. It was about Halloween. I stand my ground as he does. I am befuddled and think he's wrong and stuff, but I don't count him as not a brother. He may have even...

Why do so many Christians vehemently disagree?

It's an interesting question, especially when the Bible clearly says it shouldn't be that way. One thing I am convinced in my studies of Christian history is that it's nothing new. There were far more controversies in the New Testament than people like to admit. Furthermore, after NT times...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Earnest, you are just repackaging your arguments. They haven't changed in overall scope. Not saying that is bad, it's just my answers to all your rebuttals remain the same... The conversation has run its course. We aren't bringing anything new. I believe in obedience. Please don't...

I don't know where to start my journey, but I am excited to embrace it

Oh, good heavens! I am probably the last guy you want to hear from! First off, I agree with Willie about your fiance. It's going to be difficult. But not impossible. There is a couple in my Church like that and it works out between them. My advice is that while it's not a good situation...

    The Error of Uzzah

First off, let me say that my Pastor alerted me to this, and aided me in understanding it. Gotta give honor where honor is due. Numbers 4:15 KJV And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

We'll see, you are doing it right here and right now! You are saying that Noah's Grace was conditional on his work of building the ark. You are just replacing "work" with "obedience". I fully acknowledge that obedience is important. But Grace doesn't come by obedience; it comes by faith...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

well, you almost got it right... But you juuuuust gotta slip a little of that works doctrine in, don't you? Just can't let God's grace do it alone, huh? One more time: Noah had grace and faith BEFORE he was told to build the ark. He had it before "saving his house".

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. If your point is that he can cause us to stop sinning, I simply disagree. Some folks point to drug addicts or alcoholics who have stopped an "have no desire" to abuse substances again. I say praise God and he does do that. Though I am...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Yes, absolutely! This is what I was saying all along. I suppose the difference in what I am saying (as oppose to what others may may be saying) is that he found Grace and had faith BEFORE he built the ark. He didn't receive such because he built the ark.

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

No he wasn't.... 1 Corinthians 9:22 doesn't have a darned thing to do with Romans 7. I am one to believe Paul when he says something; not try to explain why he didn't mean what he said. Yes, there are a bunch of them in my Church. THey are doing great, but they still don't put themselves in...

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

That's not the new covenant. That's Jesus expounding on the old covenant. Romans 7:19 KJV For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Paul was speaking of himself. He said (actually 3 different times in this chapter) that the good he intended to do, he...

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

Lady, when Jesus gave the sermon, what law were they under? They were STILL under the law of Moses. Jesus was starting the transition which would really start to take off in Acts. But while Jesus was planting the seeds of Grace, they were still under the law. You are right that they are much...

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

Some of them? Here is the thing: Jesus, Paul and James all said something similar when it comes to keeping "some of them". That is, if you keep one of them, you are indebted to keep ALL of them. I believe in praying for and loving your enemies, by the way... That's a bit off topic, but one...

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

Really? Do you have to ask? When we speak of the law being done away with or us not being under the law, which do you think we are referring to? I actually believe I know why you are asking. Let me make things clear: the Law of Moses AKA the Law of God was done away with and we are now...

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

He didn't make them more powerful for the new covenant, he made them more Impossible to keep. Besides, they aren't to be kept at all. They were done away with. We please God by faith, not by keeping the law carnally.

    ROMANS 4:6 IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

Did you like how the living Bible quotes verse 28 as much? 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. Or how about verse 21? 21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

No. You are confusing me with God. I didn't say it; God did. Gen 6:9. Well that doesn't even make sense. Of course not all men are individuals. Duh! The verse you are referring to says it APPEARED to all men... It doesn't say it applies to all men, that all men accepted it or that all...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Noah found Grace with God BEFORE he was given the order to build the ark. Check the scripture:. Gen 6:8 is where it says Noah found Grace. Verse 14 is where God started giving instructions. Building the ark is not when Noah found Grace or had faith. He was given the command because he...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Overall, I do like the OP, but I do have some reserves and feedback. I actually believe this is almost true, but it comes dangerously close to adding works to salvation. As I mentioned in another post, Noah already had Grace and by the faith he already had prepared the ark. Yes, we are to...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

The problem with that is that Noah found Grace in the eyes of God before he was even given the command to build the ark. Every once in a while the Bible has thoughts thown in that aren't in chronological order. The book of John at times is like this, especially in the first half of chapter...
