John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

The part I like best is, "WAIT, THERE'S MORE:" As if that which proceeded wasn't enough to send condemn me to 10,000 deaths! :)

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

The scriptures make sense when we understand that a son can not be his own father. It's mind boggling how the trinity gained so much traction in the church. Jesus is the son of God. That's easy to understand. Jesus being the son of God and God makes 0 sense.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

The plain, simple, easy to comprehend truth.

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

First you try to tell me we can't comprehend God. I show you a couple of verses that say we can comprehend God. Instead of humbling yourself in the face of scripture and considering that maybe you're the one who has been deceived, that we actually are quite capable of comprehending God, you just...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

That doesn't say Jesus is God. It says God dwelt in Jesus. Eph 3:19, And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Like Colossians, this doesn't say we are God. It says God dwells in us. "His name shall be called" is not at all...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

John 1 says the "word" was in the beginning, was with God, was God, and became flesh. The word "Word" is the Greek word "logos" and the 1st century reader of John would have understood what it means. Suffice it to say it didn't mean "Jesus" to them. Do some research on logos. Jesus said more...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

I quoted a couple of very straight forward verses that say only the Father is God. I can understand that perfectly fine. Very simple declaration. Trying to make Jesus, who is NOT the Father, is why the church has to say God is too big to comprehend. But the scriptures themselves declare...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

How does all of that fit with: John 17:3, And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 1 Cor 8:6, But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are]...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

No Mormon, JW, or any thing like that. I just read 1 Cor 8:6 and John 17:3 and take them to say that the only true God is the Father. Is Jesus the Father? No. Then he's not the one true God.

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

I think I'm beginning to understand now. The Israel of today, the one you visited in, is no more God's chosen people than the man in the moon. I'm not sure what I said that would have been construed to say otherwise, but one human trying to convey his thoughts to another does not always work out...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Whether Jesus knew or not is irrelevant. Even if he did know he would have kept it a secret. He certainly would not have told it to anyone else Paul would be a liar. The "other sheep" could not have been the church. There will be plenty of Gentiles admitted into paradise. Remember the...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

If Jesus had spoken about the church to make known its end times, then it would hardly have been a secret, the one that God kept secret until He revealed it to Paul, the one about the church. There's really no way around that I can see. Rom 16:25-26, 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

I have no problem with you. I think you have some good ideas, even if they're not exactly like mine. I'm not the standard for truth you know. :) I just don't know exactly what you mean by, "The Jewish State of Israel." Rom 9:27, Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

I don't think we're talking the same language here. :) What do you mean by, "the Jewish State of Israel?" Not even knowing what that is, I would hardly have an inside track on it.

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Odd conclusion. All I said was that there is more than 1 trial in the Bible. How does that water down the events Israel will face in Revelation? Why do you keep quoting verses written to Israel before Pentecost as though they were meant for you, while ignoring the verses written specifically to...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Is it possible that there are more trials than those in Revelation? I think so. For example, Israel has already had some trials. Heb 11:36, And others had trial of [cruel] mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: Look at the context of 2 Tim 3;12. Paul was talking...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

1 Thess 4:17, Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. We'll meet Jesus in the clouds (not the earth) and we'll be with him from then on. When he does come to earth to fight the...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Read Matthew chapters 24 & 25 where Jesus was speaking to Israel about the end times. Notice all the calamities they will face, the same ones in Revelation. Also notice all the times he tells them to be alert, to look for signs, to be prepared and not get caught short handed. Then Read 1...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Instead of focusing on the word "law" maybe we should consider the significance of "the spirit of life" and "death." Do you realize that you are in a small minority? Not that numbers determine truth. I just wonder why you are so concerned about my salvation when there are billions who think the...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Well, it's hard to answer a non-sequitur. Since I never said there is no resurrection, it'd be impossible to prove why I said there is no resurrection. If you stopped holding your breath you'd get more oxygen to your brain. I already told you, but here it goes again; "The dead shall be raised...
