    Satan was right? Egads!

I'm not JW. Yes, when Jesus and God are kept in their proper positions, it is a different story, one which you do not know. I know your story but you don't know mine, so I don't see how you are in any position to comment on how the Bible reads with the understanding of Jesus actually being the...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

As I recall, Jesus is said to have a God in about a half dozen places in the NT. Ephesians 1:3 comes to mind, but there are others. Maybe we should be worshiping that God. He must be even more powerful than YHWH. :) But, I guess it's easier to just ignore those verses and keep calling Jesus...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Got it! Thanks. Very good. Too often folks jump to conclusions as to what a word meant to the ancient Hebrews. They din't always mean the same thing as we in the modern West think they mean. It's nice to know there's someone who cares to make the effort to ascertain the true meaning of words...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Matt 7:3, And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 1 John 1:8, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

I did and don't see how that changes how Strong's defines "everlasting." Am I missing something? It's also worth understand both the words "old" and "going forth" (both from KJV) mean in Hebrew. Both are also in Strong's.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

I didn't know that. I guess it makes sense though. I won't say anything about what "everlasting" means. I'll let Strong's define it. H3117 יוֹם yowm (yome) n-m. 1. a day (as the warm hours). 2. (literal) from sunrise to sunset, or from one sunset to the next. 3. (figurative) a space of time...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

John 8:58, Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Read the verse very carefully as written. Notice that nowhere does it speak of an "eternity past." John didn't say Jesus existed in "eternity past." It says Jesus existed "before Abraham" and there is...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Let's just take the first of 500 verses and see if they really say Jesus is God. Col 1:15, Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Jesus is the image of God. OK. My wife was looking in the mirror as I stood behind her. I looked in the mirror and stared into her...

    Trinity Belief and Born Again?

It is said that one must believe in the trinity to get born again. Here are a few verses that tell us how to get saved: Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

There is no real agreement among scholars. Trinitarian scholars included, on how this verse should be translated. There are many translations that indicate we are waiting for the return of Jesus in order to show the glory (manifested power) of God. Jesus is the glory of God, but that doesn't...

    Satan was right? Egads!

You can't just go changing words in the scriptures. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." is not the same as, "In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God." Better to find out exactly what "the Word" is. It's the Greek word...

Who is Jesus to a Non-Trinitarian?

I hear you. "Son of God" is not the same thing as "God the Son." "Son of God" can be found over 30 times in the scriptures. To find "God the Son" one must refer to the Athenasian Creed or one of it's devilish cousins. To the many who don't know him, we must continue to speak the truth in love.

    Satan was right? Egads!

I quoted a verse that said Jesus came only for the lost sheep of the tribe of Israel. Christians didn't exist until the day of Pentecost, so the Jews to whom Jesus spoke had no idea about Christianity. Jesus made Christianity available only after he died, was raised, and ascended into the...

    Satan was right? Egads!

I recently did a teaching on YHWH and why it is so important. Here, I believe, is the crux of the matter: Grammatically YHWH could be translated as either "I am" or "I will be." Considering the context in which He told Moses His name, I believe that latter makes more sense. God wanted to assure...

    Satan was right? Egads!

Matt 7:21, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. That was quite true when Jesus uttered those words to the Jews (Matt 10:6 & Matt 15:24), but don't you see how things changed with his...

    Satan was right? Egads!

I'm afraid DavidB said something to that effect. Of course, as you say, knowing who God really is is a good thing, but He's not the kind of god that would punish someone for simply doing or believing what they've been taught. Sincerity is certainly a good thing, but it doesn't guarantee accuracy.

    Satan was right? Egads!

Exactly! He even took into account the heart of King David, a guy who had some wife's husband killed so he could have her all to himself. With that in mind, pronouncing God's name incorrectly doesn't seem all that bad.

    Satan was right? Egads!

I agree with you on all those points. But unless God gives you revelation, how do you know if someone is born again of incorruptible seed or not? Seed is seed. An offspring can not change from being the same nature as their parent. A son may behave badly and be a huge disappointment to their...

    Satan was right? Egads!

First of all, I didn't write what I wrote because of that guy's Trinitarian stance. I wrote it because of the utter vitriol and hate he demonstrates towards a brother in Christ who doesn't agree with his doctrine. That's where he lacks knowledge. I would also think the church could agree on the...

    Satan was right? Egads!

1 John 1:8, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Now I'm beginning to see why you write much of what you write. You deceive yourself and the truth is not in you. Still, I think you are sincere and are in truth born again, just misinformed as were...
