    Limited atonement !

And who is giving the promise? rhetorical question. God is giving this promise. We are in a mutual relationship. Can you find a promise of man in scripture that he will never leave Christ? Our problem is not God. He keeps His promises, the issue man cannot. That is why we have all the...

    Limited atonement !

I find it amazing that so many are not consistent with their theology. We have a statement above that God is a liar if He is unable to keep someone saved. Of course, first no one has been saved in their lifetimes. However, God chose not to keep Adam from falling. Why do you think that He has...

Limited atonement is a false gospel

This is NOT limited atonement. This is the application of atonement. Only believers made the atonement available to/for them. It is there for the taking. God calls, we answer. He NEVER choses who we will believe. Christ defeated death just so God could call all men to repentance. He...

Limited atonement is a false gospel

This says nothing about eternal security, but everything about assurance. It even states a believer is heir to salvation, not that it was guaranteed to him in his lifetime.

    Limited atonement !

So, instead of defending or proving a believer has salvation, you do what most do is speak about assurance. There is a vast difference between the two. The former no one has, the latter, every believing person has it, or at least should.

    Limited atonement !

Typical response of someone who has no answer. Ad hominins.

    Limited atonement !

I have agreed with some of what you have stated to date. However, no one has yet shown that any believer is a saved person. That one has salvation and could lose it. It is impossible to lose one's salvation because you can only inherit it after you have died. I Pet 1:3-5 is the clearest text...

    Limited atonement !

Yes, commentary based on 2000 years of consistent teaching of the Truth of scripture. You really don't know what you are saying. You give credence to two teachings that have opposite views based on scripture, then say scripture does not contradict. You are correct scripture has never...

    Limited atonement !

Scripture is what men want it to say for their own purposes. Every false teaching that has to date been promulgated has been based on scripture. Here are some that arose during the first 5 centuries. Paul even stated that many false teachers would arise and lead man away from the once given...

    Limited atonement !

Don't need to. He is a Calvinist with a twist on missions. Just another man who likes his own theory better. Still modern 250 years ago. Hardly the Gospel once given. He does not portray Christ as the Savior of the world. Very simple.

    Limited atonement !

You can get as many Calvinists to support your view, but each is as vacuous as the next. They have no understanding of God as well, let alone atonement. You and they have no definition of atonement. You conflate atonement with how God would use the atonement. The atonement was not made by...

    Limited atonement !

He didn't nail any sins to the Cross. His shed blood was the propitiation of all the sins of the world. When believers confess their sins, Christ as our High Priest forgives those sins. They are gone. The only thing(person) nailed to the Cross was Christ. Could you actually explain how one...

    Limited atonement !

He tasted death for all to defeat death, so He could have saints. Without defeating death, there will be no saints.
  15. R

    Limited atonement !

Yes, He tasted death for everyone. Heb 2:9
  16. R

    Limited atonement !

So you keep saying. However, that does not change what it says and means. And by the way, what it has meant since the Gospel was written and taught to the first century Church.

    Limited atonement !

You are correct, He was praying for His disciples in vs 9. He prayed for all others, the world in vs 24-26, context, context, context.
  18. R

    Limited atonement !

You can continue to make rediculous assertions about contexts, and content, that makes no sense whatsoever. You twist, rewrite, make up new meanings of words that one cannot even find in a dictionary just to attempt to support your theory of limited atonement. The problem you don't even...

    Limited atonement !

What a complete misunderstanding of scripture. First by Brightfame52, then you who agrees with him. John 17 is Christs Pastoral Prayer. It is divided into 4 sections. Verses 1-5 is His prayer for Himself. Vs 6-19 He prays for His disciples. Vs 20-23 He prays for the Church. Lastly vs 24-26 He...

    Limited atonement !

Just as no person is chosen to believe, no person is chosen to be a reprobate. The word chosen as used here is God in His foreknowledge knew the heart of Judas. So, God chose Him for a specific purpose of service. He was used to fulfill an OT prophesy. Also, you claim he was not saved...
