    Questions For JW's

No one is denying the importance and studying scripture- it’s SUPER important. At the same time though, there are many many different interpretations of scripture.

    Questions For JW's

    God is the final authority.

    Questions For JW's

LDS Christians and JW approach scripture study, epistemology, sharing the gospel VASTLY differently. For one of many examples: JW are super into memorized arguments, quotations, and using those to convince you to join them (and you’re damned if don’t). In contrast, LDS Christians aren’t...

The Mormon Church And Child Sexual Abuse

News flash: sinners (including pedophiles) exist in every set of pews, including yours. This is a human problem, and no group is immune. Never assume someone is “safe” because you know them from church. Be sure to give your children a solid age-appropriate education on sexuality (example...

    Questions For JW's

Again: at Christmas I celebrate Christ’s birth. We read the nativity story, act it out, and sing Christmas hymns (“Silent Night” etc). None of that is pagan. Holidays are what you make them.

    Questions For JW's

It’s not about be judgmental, it’s about being factual. To say that “Christmas is pagan” is inaccurate- because Christmas is what you make it. Same with any other celebration. Celebrating isn’t evil. Just want to keep celebrations focused on God and good things.

    Leave or Fight?

Depends on what it is. Something to leave over: leader abused your kid. Upon everything being reported, nothing was done. Something to try to change: scripture study classes are boring. Speak up in class and contribute! Volunteer to help out and change things.

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

I'm going to respond to this via PM.

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

I am SO close to loosing my temper here: Ronald, you say that you respect my beliefs, but yet you pride yourself in participating in "anti-cult" movement. That's an inherent contradiction: I'm a "Mormon". But not the "Mormonism" Water Martin told you about-- that's nothing but a huge straw man...

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

Again, I PASSIONATELY disagree with you on every point here. EXTREMELY PASSIONATELY. I am skipping any more explanation because there is no point: you don't want to hear it. I acknowledge your choice there, and won't waste either of our time. But I'm sorry, but I can no longer respect you...

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

And I can only look at the hundreds of testimonies of Christ I have seen destroyed and/or twisted by the "anti-cult" movement.

Jesus left us with the assignment to make disciples,

I am running very low on patience here, so will respond via PM.

    Questions For JW's

Any holiday is what you make it. I’m reading the nativity story, acting it out with my kids, and singing “Silent Night”. I’m choosing to celebrate the birth of my Savior.

    Questions For JW's

My experience was the opposite of that.

    Questions For JW's

The Church’s correct name is “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”. For people I go with “LDS Christian”. You are ☺️

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

And JW use these exact same arguments. Again: I know that you're not going to change or listen to anything I say, so I'm not going to waste our time with that. I acknowledge your right & the JW right to believe as you do, regardless of what I think of it.

    Questions For JW's

I’m not remotely a fan of the WatchTower organization. But I do very much acknowledge people like your friend whom truly love God. I celebrate them. And the fact that we are saved by faith, and not by our ability to ace a theology test.

    Questions For JW's

Note: in JW beliefs it matters a TON that you belong to the WatchTower organization.

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

*Jane shakes her head* Contending for the faith means to preach goodness of Christ, not attacking others humans. I PASSIONATELY disagree with you here with the exact same passion I disagree with a JW. And also like working with a JW, I know nothing I will say will change your mind.
