    Christian Fiction, Sci fi,make believe...

Agreed. Same with any other person teaching. Though I would very much like @Anthony D'Arienzo to address the question himself.

    Christian Fiction, Sci fi,make believe...

Anthony, If a person thoroughly studies scripture in prayer, listening the God speaking, and gets answer A. And you say a different answer, answer B. Why in the world should such a person give you and your answer B the time of day? Other than "because Anthony said so and Anthony believes he...

    Christian Fiction, Sci fi,make believe...

Anthony, you're not going to convince me otherwise, and I don't think it's ethical for you to try -- God's the teacher, not sinners. But then again, if you want to totally ignore me saying that, you certainly can. But it is a waste-of-time conversation.

    Christian Fiction, Sci fi,make believe...

Anthony, I don't look at Christ's words in John 14:16 as "oh those don't apply to me" or "oh the God the Spirit doesn't have the power to teach me things". I don't instead look to men to be my first and foremost teacher. God comes first.

Ok, as long and you're wanting people to not respect you or your views as well. That's at least a non-hypocritcal stance.

John 14:26 New Testament 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you

By that logic, I should treat you Joseph77 as a liar undeserving of any respect period.

Flipping this question around: If "Bob" told me that an angel appeared to him and told Him the Calvinistic views of the Gospel was true, I would acknowledge his view and continuing to respect him as a person, even while disagreeing with his beliefs and not believing his claimed experience...

    Discernment vs Critisism

While be discerning, a person can and should be rational and respectful when learning about another. Bashing and other irrational behavior is the opposite of that.

    Dead faith.

This is a very solid response Illuminator. Well said. Obviously I don't think it's going to matter to some people, but I (even being not a Catholic) do acknowledge it and thank you for your time putting it together.

    Dead faith.

No complaint with Paul Every complaint with misrepresenting another person/group.

    Dead faith.

This really is a straw man.

    Dead faith.

*sigh* justbyfaith, I know that you're not going to change, but I would urge you to spend time listening to how people other than yourself love Christ. (And obviously love Christ yourself).

    Dead faith.

Nobody’s salvation is dependent on you mocking or misconstruding what they believe. In fact, nobody ‘s salvation is dependent on you at all- Christ alone is their Savior. You should have nothing against *listening* to another person sharing their love of God and Savior Jesus Christ.
  17. J

    Dead faith.

Your salvation is not dependent on anyone else being saved/not saved. Your love of Christ should not be dependent on anyone else's salvation status. You can talk about your love of Christ with anyone, regardless of their salvation status. A person could be theologically crazy or extremely...

    Dead faith.

justbyfaith, you're being silly here. Your personal salvation is not dependent on Catholics being crazed devil worshipers. A person in Christ has zero need to rely on mockery or misconstrue another person's beliefs, and such is the devil's tactics (like how many times have we seen atheists do a...

    Spotting the Heretic

I'm going to politely disagrew tih you and your approach, and leave the conversation it at that.

    Spotting the Heretic

I tired to have a respectful discussion with you, sharing different views. You then just preached at me and strawman-ed all other other views. That's not the type of respectful conversation I'm interest in.
