How could the Messiah be sinless?

Ethnicity is highly irrelevant. The white robe is symbolic -- symbolic of purity.

How could the Messiah be sinless?

I read scriptures, and have no problem with the idea that God has emotions (love, anger, etc). Such a key part of God actually.

What is the point that we should judge someone as being a false teacher?

This attitude/approach is to be applauded.

What is the point that we should judge someone as being a false teacher?

I see this as being two different questions— What is the point of asking somebody to explain their beliefs to you and listening to their answers? That’s called a devotion to truth. It doesn’t matter whether you believe such a person is a true teacher or not - be factual about whatever it is...

If I'm a sinner how can I be saved?

We need to remember that God’s blessings come when and how He deems best. Not us. God is not a vending machine to instantly grant a persons wishes. Yes, there are times Christ tells the lame man to walk. But then there are also Paul begging to have the thorn in his flesh removed, but that was...

If I'm a sinner how can I be saved?

The Spirit of God prompts a person to do good and be more like Him, yes that does involve acknowledging flaws, but then moving forward with Him. If you feeling is wailing “I’m so imperfect, I shouldn’t bother coming to Christ” with being trapped in moping and dispaer - that’s a trap from the...

If I'm a sinner how can I be saved?

In short: embrace Jesus Christ with your whole self: heart, mind, might, and soul. Walking with Him is not a one-and-done thing, but an entire lifetime+ journey. You’re not going to reach the point of finished perfection in this lifetime.

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

A fact that doesn't stop you or anyone else from sharing said opinion.

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

I love it on the rare occasion where a person actually witnessed to me by stating what they believe to be true (versus why they think I’m wrong based on junk they’ve been told). Such times are extremely rare, but when they happen it’s a welcomed treat and change of pace.

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

EG White actually doesn't strike me as uber-offensive. Obviously I don't believe that she was a prophetess, but besides that.... I just don't have a super negative opinion of her. I do acknowledge that she did love God, was a Christian lady, and tried her hardest to serve God. As to other...

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

No, she just read some anti junk that (like anti-SDA stuff) takes a couple of quotes completely out of context, spins facts through a funhouse mirror 6 times over, and then demonizes that fabrication. I did indeed know that she was an extreme writer and have read some of her stuff (actual...

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

Very likely. It's very typical behavior of any "anti-" group.

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

Again: Like Athanasian Christians, LDS Christians believe that the Spirit is a person of Spirit. The Son has a spirit, which inhabits a body of flesh, once mortal but now resurrected and glorified. Obviously having the body in no way diminishes the Son's glory or Godliness. The Bible is mute on...

Do Joseph Smith and Ellen White fir Bibal criteria of a true Prophet?

I literally just talked about the Father having body: If you want to talk about temple rites, sure we can totally talk about that. Conversation starts with salvation is via faith:

    What does it mean?

@janc , you seem very interested in the relationship between the Father, Son, and Spirit. Here's my take on it: The Father, Son, and Spirit are three different persons. If you want to invite them all to a figurative dinner, then you'll figuratively need to set three spots. The Son doesn't...

Brace yourselves! Dana Coverstone 3 dreams. Woe to America!

I don’t see much point in arguing this.

    A question about belief

@Entanglement , let me know if you want to talk about anything.

Haha. Culture & suggestion don’t make automatic “thus saith the lord you must do it this way”. This actual doctrinal principle is being good stewards of the things the Lord gives us, which does include Earthly things. Taking good care of your fiananses and having storage for tough times are...
