    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

In answer to the title question: Heretic.

Christians and the Law of Moses

@mjrhealth, Gentile and Jew alike are under the law and will be judged by it on the final day.

Jesus is God in the Flesh!!

Jesus was begotten in the incarnation (Luke 1:35).

I am under the law "to" Christ...so NAY.

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

The rich man and Lazarus is not a parable. And you say the opposite. Well, there is the possibility that I am right and you are wrong. Are you going to bank your eternity on your being right about this issue? How much better to accept the doctrine of eternal torments as a deterrent...

Christians and the Law of Moses

There is no law "of" Christ as opposed to the law of God (except in Galatians 6:2). Paul said he was under the law "to" Christ, in 1 Corinthians 9:21.

    Kenosis heresy

@101G, I believe that we have hashed this out before that you do not believe in the doctrine of the hypostatic union; which to every degree is sound doctrine. If you do indeed deny this doctrine, we have nothing further to discuss. But I will set before you a scripture, you can take it or...

    Grace vs Legalism

Abiding does not occur by self-effort. Hebrews 6:18-20 does indeed tell us to make Jesus our anchor...iow, we are to hold on to our faith in Him. abiding. enduring to the end. keeping the law and commandments (not in order to obtain salvation but as the result of having it). holding on...

Christians and the Law of Moses

I think that you may have misinterpreted this. Because the law is a schoolmaster to lead men to Christ (Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:20, Psalms 19:7 (kjv)).

Christians and the Law of Moses

If we walk according to the Spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. In the New Testament, we are no longer looking at a set of don'ts, as pertaining to what we must not do, but we are looking at a set of do's, as pertaining to virtues that we are to exemplify. In exemplifying these...

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

I think that, looking at Revelation 20:10, that there is the distinct possibility that it is describing what punishment in the lake of fire will be like for all who go there. And that it is not only speaking of the punishment of satan, the beast, and the false prophet. So, if you want to...

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

So God is going to burn out for lack of fuel?

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

@ReChoired, that is a lot of effort put forth to deny some very sound teaching in holy scripture; and what I found was that many of the verses you quoted actually teach the concepts that you have been denying. I will point out concerning one of your contentions, that a day is coming when all...

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

Is there something wrong with vulnerability? I find it to be a virtue... There is certainly no angst on my part.

    Grace vs Legalism

I believe that if we do what it says in Deuteronomy 4:29 and Jeremiah 29:13 that at the end of the process (when we find Him) we can be certain of our calling and election without a doubt.

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

Mat 13:41, The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; Mat 13:42, And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Mat 13:49, So shall it be at the end of the...

    Edward Fudge: Hero Or Heretic?

Right...the word of the Lord is what establishes orthodoxy...and it clearly teaches everlasting torments as punishment in hell (then the lake of fire).

    Kenosis heresy

I think that I still have to disagree with you, @101G, and say that to take part and partake are one and the same thing...they mean the same thing....while it seems that you almost base your entire doctrine on there being a difference between the two.

    Grace vs Legalism

I am certainly all for the understanding that we are eternally secure in Christ; but that this is dependent on what kind of faith we have.
