Only one rapture of all the saints, and only one second coming of Christ

Parousia (Greek Dictrebellion o Parousia (Greek παρουσια) = "presence, arrival." o "Last trump"= seventh ("last" of seven) trump. See Revelation 7:15. IMO the sequence here is: o. Trumpets sound, signaling an announcement. o. Scroll is read aloud, describing the rebellion and the punishment...

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

The early church fathers communicated the faith, and I honor them for that. We all have our own understandings about some of the details.

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

The question was about the two witnesses in Revelation 11:3-13 (Enoch and Elijah). Most believers die before they go to heaven. Those who are still alive at the midpoint of the tribulation are raptured to heaven by Jesus, never having died (Revelation 14:14-16, 1Thessalonians 4:16-18). Death...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

"Rapture"= "the act of seizing and carrying off as prey" (Oxford English Dictionary). BTW there is no such word as "Bible" in the KJV Holy Bible either. Rather the New Testament was written in Greek, hence the actual word is Greek Βιβλος. It simply means "book." "Bible" stems from Greek βιβλος...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

I suspect you do not have an actual King James Bible, rather you have a transliteration of the 1611 King James Bible into modern English script. I had an actual 1611 King James Bible years ago, and I couldn't read any of it because its English script is so different from today's English...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

Truth7t7 notes: <there won't be a 1000 year millennial kingdom on this earth> Bible notes: <ruled with Christ 1000 years> (Revelation 20:6) "Dissolved by fire" (2Peter 3:10-12) refers to the end of the millennium. See Revelation 20:7-15). Crunch time.

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

IMO: The two witnesses are Enoch and Elijah, who were taken up to heaven many years ago, knowing that they are to return and become martyrs (as was Jesus).

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

David in NJ noted: <false doctrine> Suggestion: "Gather His elect" (Matthew 24:31) is not the rapture, rather it is the return of Jesus to earth with his mighty angels. His elect (Christian Jews) that are yet scattered are then invited back to their rightful homeland, to join Jews already...

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

WPM asked: <Where is the "Church" mentioned in Revelation 11:3?"> The two witnesses are God's witnesses, hence part of God's church. "Church" is an English rendering of Greek εκκλησια = "assembly duly summoned." We do not come to God, rather God summons us (John 6:44). <Where does it mention a...

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

"Church" is Greek εκκλησια (ecclesia). We get the word "ecclestiastical" from it. The etymology is: εκ = from καλεω = call This reflects John 6:44: "No man comes to me unless the Father calls him." The church is the body of believers. Daniel is a believer who was "called." Jesus said, "...on...

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

David in N.J. noted: <The two witnesses die> IMO: The two witnesses (perhaps Enoch and Elijah) die, and after 3 days they stand up and rise up into heaven. This is at the midpoint of the 70th seven (Daniel 9:24-26), before the "great tribulation" begins (Matthew 24:21). <I will not leave you...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

IMO: o. The tribulation spans seven years. o. The great tribulation occurs at the midpoint of the seven years. o. The rapture occurs at this midpoint. o. The rapture is depicted in Revelation 11:12, 14:14-16. "Then they (two witnesses) heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up...

Rapture Thoughts of Some Early Church Leaders

    The pre-tribulation rapture is noted in Revelation 11:3 (two witnesses). Also: John 14:2-3, 1Corinthians 15:51-53, 1Thessalonians 4:15-19 Revelation 11:12, 14:14-20.

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

New heavens and earth is AFTER the millennium (Revelation chapters 21, 22).

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

We are all sinners, hence we have never experienced sinless perfection. Atheists sometimes argue that since God causes everything, God causes sin, and I agree. The apostle Paul said the same (Romans 9:19). I do not see how it could be otherwise, since God is Creator. If we create a story, do...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

"Christ the firstfruits" = "firstfruits from THE GRAVE." "End" (of the millennial kingdom) is succeeded by the new heavens and new earth (Revelation chapters 21, 22).

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

Biblical fact: Jesus returns and rules 1000 years (millennium). (Revelation 20:6) Biblical fact: new heavens, new earth come after the millennium. (2Peter 3:7, Revelation 21:1)

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

IMO: "Image of the beast" (Revelation 13:14-15) is a statue of the beast that is to be reveranced. This was customary for Roman emperors. The Romans did not have a concept of a Creator, rather their "gods" were fictitious exalted men. We see their gods in our days of the week...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

<My English Bible> The Bible was not written in English, rather Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic. <Keep it coming, I'm not going to change> The issue is whether you can support your position.
