Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

I agree.... in principle at least. But we need to test all things...the devil does deceive and counterfeit the things of God.

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

Amen. That is the serpent's entire purpose as you are pointing out.....to lead souls to hell. Steal, kill and destroy. And if he can destroy the foundation of the faith, he destroys the faith - AKA apostasy - because God's word says,"what can the righteous do if the foundation be destroyed?"...

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

If we look at this man's testimony of how he came to believe in Christ.......that and everything together makes me wonder if he needs deliverance from his past involvement in new age. New agers have "experiences".....and the devil does indeed believe, except he comes only to deceitfully...

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

I think anyone who doesn't believe and affirm that faith in Christ is sound doctrine can't even be called a Christian. That is a gospel according to themselves....a false gospel.

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

Do you think Jesus, the Word made flesh, was talking about a literal mountain and sea? Are we still so hard of hearing? We need to understand from His written word what kind of mountain and sea He was referring to. If we have a new man and our old man is crucified with Christ then we HAVE...

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

The scripture says "we who believe HAVE entered His rest." And that our "new man HAS been created in righteousness and true holiness".....which is why we are admonished to "put on the new man". We can't put on or walk in what we haven't received. It's not figurative or hyperbole, it is simply...

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

Ah well, we do see things differently still. The truth is that those who have received genuine faith that is of God and from Him (not of our own) HAVE been made holy and HAVE entered His rest. That is Truth. Yes, a gift. "Facts" have to do with whether or how much we are apprehending and...

Impediments to Spiritual Growth in Christ.

The experience of going from death to life, from darkness to light, from being separated from God (and therefore unable to perceive Him) to being reconciled to Him and knowing Him heart to heart, having Him revealed to your spirit, and going from no faith to genuine faith is hardly a superficial...

One Baptism. - What is it?

Power...."ye shall receive power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you." Spiritual gifts as the Spirit wills: Act 2:14-18 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to...

One Baptism. - What is it?

I see the two as being part of the same born again package. They are all being alluded to in that "one baptism" verse. Jesus told Nicodemus we must be born of water and the Spirit. Born again, water baptized and Spirit baptized....all one package so to speak.

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

An accomplice, yes I agree.....so we don't want to knowingly be party to someone's sin, even though we are not the one committing the sin. Associating with people doesn't mean we are to knowingly be party to their sinful activity. Though Jesus ate and drank with sinners, I highly doubt for...

One Baptism. - What is it?

I believe the one baptism is alluding to being born again........where Jesus said we must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

Certainly agree with that. But, for an example, do you think if an unsaved person of our aquaintance was planning on robbing a bank that not judging them means it would be ok for us to kindly and non-judgmentally accept their invitation to drive the getaway car if they asked? Or would it be...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

You know, I've struggled with that passage, thinking it must be referring to saved Gentiles. But now I see that it doesn't have to be talking about saved Gentiles: Rom 2:11-16 For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

Yes, I think that could be what Paul was alluding to. And it might be one reason why everyone really knows there is a God deep down in their heart, but have rebelled against Him and the truth, since all were tempted in some way and have sinned. We are even part of that creation in which God is...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

Yes, I understand, thank you. The devil does like to pervert the things of God. We as believers need to watch our attitudes, with one another and especially towards lost souls who generally "know not what they are doing", lest we bring the gospel into disrepute. I don't think it's our place...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

Maybe we can beg a little forebearance for just a tiny bit more on this...? I would like to know if we are in agreement about the idolatry part, or how you see it.

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

Yes, I agree. And would you agree with the following...? Because "Astrology" is such a widespread and endemic form of idolatry around the globe, leading many souls to perdition, I think it's important that nobody be careless or dismissive about this subject. God condemns such practices...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

I was just discussing and trying to express one possible aspect...yes just an opinion, not well expressed and I was forgetting that I do agree and believe the stars are one way the Lord told the story as a witness to the plan of redemption. (lol, getting old) And I don't doubt it is one thing...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

No I sure haven't thrown out the OT, it is instructive for our inner man when it is used properly (ie, in the new way of the Spirit) and speaks to the gospel in types/shadows, and not to mention it glorifies God. But to the Jews the old covenant has become a snare and a trap. and makes them...
