Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

I don't speak greek, Oz. So I go by what thr biblr says in english. If you don't like the way its written, write your own version. Does god need to continually renew his forgiveness? Does he need to die every day or did he die once for all? If god forgives me for being a sinner than its...

The fruits of OSAS and fruits its Opponent theolgy

Ok, I see where you are attempting to go. But i don't see validation for "many" being saints or ex saints. In fact the next verse says BUT THOSE that endure shall be saved. So the saints aren't apart of that many. Mat 22:14 says many are called, but few are chosen.

The fruits of OSAS and fruits its Opponent theolgy

Refresh my memory... Where in mat 18 or mat 24 is it referring to saints? Where does it say the parties spoken of were saints and are calked ex saints? It seems to me you are looking to find such an example to trump or make void 1 john 2:19. Gods Word does not cancel out Gods word. It has...

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

I donno H. Richard... That's a pretty wacky pet peeve! Sure i got some too. But why not stay and talk to them too? You in that big a hurry to get out of Church? I do have a simple solution to that problem: say, "excuse me".

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

It doesn't. Teach your assertations either. It merely says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive them. It doesn't give us a schedule. It doesn't say to ask daily, weekly or yearly and it doesn't say we can't ask once for forgiveness. So is faithfulness to forgive only...

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

It done correctly, you don't have to continue to ask forgiveness for sins. Confess you are a sinner and need forgiveness for being a sinner, and you only need forgiveness once. After that, your sins are covered and not imputed to you. Yes, we should ask for forgiveness if we offend others.

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

By the way Oz, if you really want to connect col 3:13 to 1 john 8-10, there is a way to do it. Its through mat 6:14-15, where it explained that if we forgive others, God will forgive us. But we must do both: ask forgiveness of God and forgive others. Bring THIS into the discussion, and you...

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

Again, 1 John 1:8-10 is speaking on confessing our sins to God. Col 3:13 is speaking of forgiving each other. Different circumstances . both talking about asking forgiveness, but not to the same party. They are only vaguely related. Besides, i stated that asking forgiveness of god is...

Like i said, you proved my point. I said you would not listen and accuse me of more of your fallacies, which is exactly what you did.

The fruits of OSAS and fruits its Opponent theolgy

I don't dispute any of this but Mat 24:10 does not refute predestination of OSAS, neither does Mat 18:23. It all coincides perfectly and neither of these verses trump 1 John 2:19. That, afterall is what you were trying to do, wasn't it? You were trying to find a verse that would trump what I...

Is history’s wisest man (Solomon) too wise for you?

Zach, dude.... I'm only attacking your methods. But you cherry pick verses and rarely -- if at all- take things in proper context. For example... You want to keep saying,"keep his commandments". Fine, i agree but why not list them? I actually think you know very well what Jesus was meaning...

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

Well the truth of the matter is i haven't contradicted 1john 1:8-10. I won't even ask how you feel i have. I just read what i wrote and read the verse you alledge i contradicted. Its clear to me that your accusations are poppycock. The rest of your fallacies make no sense and aren't worth...

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

Col 3:13 speaaks of forgiving each other. In other words sheep forgiving sheep. Not a sheep repenting for his sins against god. Yes, i do believe man must repent to god. But only once, and there is a secret to doing so. But I absolutely believe in forgiving others. Col 3;13 goes along...

The fruits of OSAS and fruits its Opponent theolgy

One of the most important verses in understanding predestination an OSAS (which i don't fully agree with) is 1 john 2:19. This verse tells me that folks can walk the walk and talk the talk of a believer. They can do and say everything a real believer does for a season. They might even truly...

Two Ways of thinking about OSAS

I went back to the beginning of this thread and read all posts concerning justaname and Oz. Whay i saw is that justaname has indeed touched on every question Oz brought up. He may not have spent alot of time (certainly not as much as Oz wanted), but he did address them. Frankly, i can see...
