What is the one true Church?

What is the one true Church? The number of replies and views to this question indicates a lostness and a desperation to identify....and not surprisingly, trying to find it in a denomination. Could it be as in the reply Jesus gave his questioners, 'Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

I don't think we are worthless, in fact I think we are so valuable to God he is prepared to give his life rather than have us die. ......and as far as our situation goes because of Adam's fall, I'm persuaded God understands this.....and doesn't hold it against us anymore than we hold the...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

I think so and I think our judgement of the fallen angels will be, you didn't care for God's methods of forgiveness and still don't. In fact, I think that will be as obvious as a train smash to the whole Universe

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

The whole killing thing, whether it be animals or man in order for God to forgive doesn't sit comfortably with me. I can forgive without a payment so surely God can. I think the incarnation is a statement of God's love for the world.....and we murdered him.......and he knew we would but he came...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

Could it be that when it comes to judgement it is us judging God? Judging whether he is worthy of our allegiance ......because as I see it, the text 'for God SO loved the World he gave his only Son......' tells me that God's judgement is in our favour

I'd like to comment further.....and yes, you are right I do have an agenda and that is to speak well of God, which I might add, the OT is not always prone to do...and Jesus had to straighten the perception of the readers out 'you have heard said...but I say unto you....' and yes, your quotes...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

Charlie, the Word of God is Jesus, John tells us that. Jesus is the one who represents God fully and accurately. The written word of God (the scriptures) requires us to understand it in its context. For example David writes about bathing his feet in his enemies blood and hoping God would break...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

Is God demanding as you assume? Does God give a gift and then require reciprocation and if one doesn't reciprocate he kills you?....that's hardly a gift! This view, which is held by the majority of the Christian Church at large I would suggest is Satan painting God with his own characteristics...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

We assume God's wrath to be a certain way, a way which reflects our own hateful inclinations. Romans 1:18-32 defines God's wrath in a way we least expect....it says 'he gave them over'....yes, read it again, 'he gave them over' .....in other words, he left them to the choices they loved.....and...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

yes yes, I know it says this.....but what paradigm do we use to understand what is being said? It seems the glory of the presence of the Lord is harmless to those who he comes to get yet the same glory harms those who don't want to know him. How can this be? Rev. 6:12-17 paints a similar...

However, holding a contradictory idea simultaneously appears to be no problems for many.......and so God's character is misrepresented to the World. Is it any wonder they give him a wide berth?

As you wish. .....and by the way, it's not about ignoring it, it's about understanding it.

    Bible Prophecy WILL be Fulfilled

In the first part the context is past tense, in the second, the deceptions are more about substitution ie, substituting all manner of teaching in place of the Gospel of which Paul said he is determined to know nothing but.

Is God schizophrenic? ....in that he makes lakes of fire to destroy and simultaneously says he loves to the point of giving his life?
  17. quietthinker

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

The lake of fire is not God's doing because it's not his nature. Jesus demonstrated God's nature.
