    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Pause there for just a moment. The teaching I’m standing against is ”You are not following Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill.” No need to arm? The doctrine of demons says that there is an absolute need to arm. How many followers of Jesus have they killed? Are we back to the low bar...

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Do you honestly believe anything @Wrangler says about me?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

That’s false. Jesus, the apostles, the church for the first three centuries of Christian history all did justice. Read the New Testament and the Ante Nicene Church Fathers. You’re bucking them. Oddly enough, no one has ever asked me that question.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Jesus didn’t. Paul didn’t. The church leaders in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd centuries didn’t. Neither do I. A shift in attitude began in the 4th century. Have you read them?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Romans 13. Why are followers of Jesus using weapons of the world when he said we do not use the weapons of the world?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Jesus and the apostles didn’t kill for the state. The church up until the time of Constantine didn’t kill for the state. They didn’t kill. Followers of Jesus killing followers of Jesus. I advise my readers to start there. If we can’t clear that low bar ...

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Thanks. What I’m trying to do is persuade people that followers of Jesus shouldn’t kill followers of Jesus, nor non-followers of Jesus. That doing so is contrary to the teaching, preaching, and example of Jesus and the apostles. Muslim. Put away your sword. Christian. Put away your sword.

Do you believe I’m an apologist for Islam? Do you believe I hate Christians?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

I believe it has been alive since the foundation of the church.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Thank you. @Wrangler has said that Spurgeon, a Baptist preacher - known in his day as the “Prince of Preachers” - is one of his favorite Christian authors. Spurgeon held my position: the followers of Jesus must not kill our enemies. I was raised Baptist. Spurgeon, played an important part in...

No. Have you read C.H. Spurgeon?

Compare and contrast that fruit with the fruit of our enemies. Believe and remember this: The enemies of the gospel are the mission field. Treat them that way.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

If we don’t believe that it is true, if we don’t teach that it is true, if we don’t preach that it is true, if we don’t model it is true, then we aren’t evangelizing Muslims. This thread is about the Crusades, not about the religion of peace. Evil comes for the religion of peace. Followers of...

Matthias -> “rabbi with no knife,“ armed only with the full armor of God.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

The writings of the Ante Nicene Church Fathers. They serve as a powerful witness against you. They weren’t Islamic apologists. Neither am I.
