That seems a far cry from "go and sin no more". More like "dont make what you have been doing so obvious". Should we not by faith be doing His best rather than our best?

And there it is. If we do not accept that overcoming all sin is possible, be it according to your faith. It won't happen. It can't happen. Overcoming doesn't happen by accident, nor does it take place despite your lack of faith. God will not accomplish anything in us without our full cooperation.

Only you could answer if this may apply to you... “14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or...

The apostle Paul was persecuted relentlessly by the Jews. “24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned... 2 Corinthians 11:24,25 All of the above accomplished without due process. No courts. No hearing. Untried. Yet Paul...

I can't see that, as the ten kings are just that...10. The ten toes were ten, but were reduced to 7 when 3 were ripped up by the roots, meaning destroyed and never returned. So the ten kings in Revelation are a different set of 10 altogether.

I vote this one.

When it abandons Jesus in favor of the state. When it abandons the Holy Spirit in favor of men. When it abandons faith in the power of the gospel in favor of legislation. When it abandons religious liberty in favor of coercion.

Some things shatter beyond recognition. Their loss hurts. Unrepairable, and beyond hope of restoration. Sometimes, depending on their sentimental value, with tears and sorrow we bin them, to be replaced with something we know well one day also be binned and replaced. We live in a throw away...

From a kiwi living in Australia, yes, that was fairly accurate, although it is difficult to encapsulate all the intricacies and nuances of a complicated birth. The brief reference to the Maori embracing Christianity was an understatement. The first missionary martyrs in New Zealand were two...

You are the one who brought up sinless perfection. I'm just repeating the promises and commands related to overcoming and the power of God in our lives. As each character flaw is presented to us by the Holy Spirit, whether it's in the realm of disobedience or habit, or dangerous tradition or...

Been there done that. I doubt however not being a gym junkie i would have accomplished that feat with the same aplomb.

Even though the Lord says they who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled, I don't think He meant strive for it. Hungering and thirsting to me means desire earnestly. Covet it. Yearn for it passionately as a treasure to be found. But such a treasure is a gift that comes only by...

I agree with your premise. But the woman, as you say, while through the power of God is able to overcome her promiscuous lifestyle, to her will be revealed other sins and habits she needs to deal with. And as each one is revealed by the Holy Spirit (convicting the world of sin...

Beautiful isn't it. And so theologically sound, and emotionally charging.

The question remains however. "Go and sin no more... is that possible", to which the answer must be yes, absolutely. Because Jesus came to take away sin. Not just the habits, not just the addictions, but sin in is insidious minutest form. Is it possible?? Not is it done yet. Is it...

If God's purpose was inevitable and irrevocable, then t this planet would not be in the mess it is today. Unless you want to claim that it was God's purpose that sin should have such evil effect over all His creation. Those crucified with Christ are those who throughout their lives voluntarily...
