Just in case you didn't know.... In John 15 Jesus is speaking to HIS APOSTLES (which were still called disciples at the time - I'm sure you know why). Jesus did, indeed, choose His disciples who would later become the Apostles. As I've already stated... I enjoy serious conversation... YOU are...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

It says CHRISTIAN under your avatar. Why don't you believe what Christians believe? Are Christians allowed to believe whatever they want to or are they supposed to believe what the Apostles taught?

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Sorry soberxp,,, I don't really understand what you're saying. I read the NT and I believe what it says. I don't try to make excuses for it or try to change what it means to suit what I THINK it means. It means what it means. Some accept it and some do not. Must leave for a while.

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

If you say MY FATHER AND MY GOD and you're speaking to YOUR FATHER Then your father is: YOUR FATHER and YOUR GOD. BOTH.

Typical of you Dan. @shepherdsword has already refuted all of your above statements... which means you don't even READ what members post. For instance he already has addressed belief as only mental assent. And you REFUSE to accept plain and crystal clear scripture for what you THINK it...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

I'm not sure what you're stating since it's the Catholic Church that confirmed that Jesus is God.

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Can "a God" (instead of God) forgive sins? do miracles? be worshipped? Thomas called Jesus GOD...Jesus did not correct Him. Why did Caiphas tear his robe? Because he believed that Jesus blasphemed,,,calling Himself God. (not a god). Find in the bible where it states that we shouldn't do...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

The NT teaches that Jesus is God. The Apostles believed Jesus is God. They passed this teaching on to the next generation... which is who I posted. You stated that the CC invented the theory of the Trinity after hundreds of years... this is just not correct. I'm going to stop posting about...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

There IS only One God ! 3 PERSONS in ONE GOD. Jesus was accepted as being God from the very beginning. This is NOT a new teaching by the CC. The CC ALWAYS believed Jesus is God. Those that the Apostles taught believed Jesus is God. Please see my previous post, no. 1279.

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

The CC did not invent anything that was not found in the bible...at least in the first few hundred years. Here is what the early church taught: Polycarp (AD 69-155) was the bishop at the church in Smyrna. Irenaeus tells us Polycarp was a disciple of John the Apostle. In his Letter to the...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Elohim can refer to gods. LORD refers to God Father the Creator. Lord refers to Jesus. Jesus is all over the OT. No response to Exodus 3:2-4 ? Who is Isaiah 53 speaking of? The writer of Hebrews states that Jesus was existing already at the time of Moses. Hebrews 11:26 re Moses 26...

How does the resurrection of the righteous and the wicked on the last day work with Premillennialism?

The above has absolutely nothing to do with my post. So then I DID properly understand your vague statement. So could you please exegete the two passages I posted and explain WHY Jesus is wrong in His statement? And WHY Paul is wrong in his statement? Thanks. Here they are again: The...

Foreknowing is not causational. Those whom He FOREKNEW He predestined TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON. HOW not WHO Looks like you don't care to have a serious conversation. And why would you? God does all the choosing.. God does all the maintenance work.. WE have no part at all in...

WHAT IS MEANT IN HEBREWS SAYING THERE IS NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS?

OK on Romans chapters 9 to 11. I'm not understanding Romans 11:30 very well and cannot get to it right now. Later...

I reply to scripture. Now you're using scripture, but you omit the point you're making. Is it safe to assume that you're referring to AS HE CHOSE US IN HIM? I'll proceed accordingly: Read the rest: THAT WE SHOULD BE HOLY AND BLAMELESS BEFORE HIM.... What is chosen is not a person, but HOW we...

How does the resurrection of the righteous and the wicked on the last day work with Premillennialism?

Your reply is not very clear. Are you saying that ONLY those that believe will be with Jesus and those that do NOT believe will be in their grave? The reason I asked you whether or not you believe that we go to be with God immediately upon our death is because of the verse you posted in no. 41...

How about: Jesus is the WAY.....John 14:6 The Way La Via The Road

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Right. But you haven't replied to the fact that it is JESUS that actually created everything. No one is arguing the fact that there is only one God. It is YOU that have proferred 3 gods...not the Christian faith. Explain HOW MANY Persons are present in the following: Exodus 3:2-4 2 The angel...
  19. GodsGrace

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

The above is correct... there is only One God. By whom does the NT state that everything was created? Colossians 1:16 16 For by Him all things were created, [Jesus] both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities -all things have...

How does the resurrection of the righteous and the wicked on the last day work with Premillennialism?

The book of Revelation was not meant for doctrine. It was never used for doctrine in the early church. The reason is that there is no consenses as to the meaning of these passages. We must base doctrine, instead, on the writings of Paul and the statements made by Jesus. Let me ask you this...
