Might I add that the Bible is sufficient for any man to understand the true nature and character of the Father and His Son, which character catholicism has terribly wrong. That the Catholic Church for so long refused a knowledge of scripture to the common people, reserving to itself the sole...

You've never been angry with anyone unreasonably? Without good cause? Ever?

Huh?

Thank you ... and yes. I also gave serious consideration, and haven't entirely discounted it, that the strange goings on in the sporting world, especially the sudden recent demise of All Black rugby, was due to woke cancel culture. Maybe there is a hidden and not yet public dispute over the...

The world has gone mad. I just recently turned 70. I touched it briefly for the sake of claiming I had done it, and for the sake of celebration, and have decided to go backwards. In 40 years of so I would expect things to return to normal. The All Blacks will be at the top of the world again...

Considering that no-one on this thread agrees with anyone else on every issue, your statement above is absolutely correct. Everyone is wrong in some things, some moreso than others, some less so. But don't try taking the highest seat and calling yourself rabbi and making claims that you have...

That's interesting. Do you have a reference for that?

But such things are established by faith. If you don't believe you can overcome sin, then actually doing so, for you, becomes impossible doesn't it? Therefore you'll believe such a concept isn't true. We live by faith. Righteousness comes by faith. If we believe we have a sin nature, that God's...

The very first lesson a Christian must learn, a lesson essential to eternal life and righteous living, is that "without Me ye can do nothing".

"Do we still have a sin nature?" No, unless you believe you do. "Are we dead to the law?" Yes, unless you believe you are alive. "But I'm resurrected with Christ, so I must be alive". Then the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in you (Romans 8:4) by grace and the power of Christ's...

Are you willing to accept the penalty for violation of the 6th Commandment?

I'm going to suggest an alternative reasoning behind the second coming. The Refiners fire is falling now. God is purifying His people now. When Jesus comes, the church has already been cleansed of sin and unrighteousness. Without spot or wrinkle. What takes place when He comes is not a cleansing...

Mmm. I can imagine your church leaders saying something similar in the 16th century as they burned people at the stake in England for the crime of teaching their children the Lord's prayer in English.

When we see God dishonored, we ought not to remain quiet, but should do and say all that we can to lead others to see that the God of heaven is not to be thought of as a common man, but as the Infinite One, the One worthy of man's highest reverence. Let us present God's Word in its purity, and...

Every reformer, from the 12th to the 18th century, from Wycliffe to Luther, from Calvin to Cranmer, and dozens in between, pointed their collective fingers at Rome and proclaimed the Roman papacy as the Antichrist of prophetic scripture. Were they right? Judging by today’s views, the reformation...

Those injustices took place because of the corrupt policies of that particular institution, and the teachings that inspired those policies, particularly from renowned "doctors" of the church such as Augustine and Aquinas. We can justifiably place the responsibility at the feet of the modern...

If the Sabbath wasn't being observed from the first century on, why did the council of Laodicea in the 4th century find it necessary to reaffirm the church's abhorrence of Sabbath observers by calling them judaizers?

The scripture is interpreting itself. It speaks for itself. How else can the following be understood.... KJV Revelation 12:3-4 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the...
