Did you know there was a time in your church history when there were 3 different bishops each claiming the Pontifical throne and title? Each one called the other 2 Antichrist. I think they were all speaking the truth.

My Bible tells me that the 4th commandment is a part of the law of God, not a law of Ellen White. Seventh Day Adventists obey the 4th Commandment not because Ellen White said to, but because Jesus said, "if ye love Me, keep My commandments". Tell me. Whose Commandment are you observing in...

It may be of interest to you, or not, that the principle means by which the Catholic Church convinced people to Obey them that have the rule over you throughout it's history until recently, was through force of arms. There are two prime examples of this affirmed by historians from early ages...

I don't have a clip as such, but the whole movie, being based on a true story, became my favorite, and still is.

Jesus entered the local synagogue one day in Nazareth. Each Sabbath the rulers of the synagogue had prepared readings which they would discuss and study. This Sabbath, Jesus was offered the scroll of Isaiah to read the stipulated text. Jesus however had something else in mind. “When He opened...

Highly pertinent to this thread, is the following conversation between 2 Seventh Day Adventists discussing the current powerful movement in the USA of Christian nationalism, the separation of church and state and the move to have a constitutional convention in order to make amendments, The...

Then you need to work out what actually did happen in 1844. Because as I said, the date is solid. "Unto 2300 days, then shall the sanctuary be cleansed". Daniel 8:14. If the Adventists have got it wrong as you believe, then what is the explanation of that verse?

Do you know of any earthly law that isn't signed and sealed by the one in authority who either wrote it or authorized it? But at the very least, someone in authority signs off to legitimize it's validity right? Surely God's law would be no different... And it wasn't. Include the 4th Commandment...

Yep. Agree. Not the first time my speed typing results in weirdness lol. As for that investigative judgment. Your are correct that there are some adventists who dont accept it. I'm not one of them. I have read a great deal from several different authors on that specific topic. Some authors from...

Have you thought about a fire pit? Do you have a friend who can make you one for basically nothing from the stainless steel drum from an old washing machine, throw it on a stand, sit it at your back door with a small coffee table and chair, and...

Let me ask a question. Here's the commandments that all Christians agree on, although not all agree they are obliged to obey them, believe it or not. KJV Exodus 20:1-7, 12-17 1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out...

The first advent was expected by those who knew and understood the prophecies, such as Simeon and Anna. For them, the coming of Messiah was no surprise. There will be a similar expectation of Jesus at His second advent. For those who don't study and believe the prophecies, the second coming...

While predicated on love, God's Commandments also are irrevocably linked to His authority. Anything we claim today as being a commandment of God which may in appearance be loving, is worthless if the authority commanding it is other than God. Even the church issues commandments... One church has...

The truths anyone has are those that agree with scripture. Those are the ones, the only ones, that are undeniable.

But where the SDA agree with scripture, there you agree with the SDA. Yes? The trick is in willing to search to see how far they agree with scripture, before dissing the whole movement as being unworthy of your attention. I became an SDA because I searched and experienced others first... And I...

Why? Why rethink anything? Paul wandered into a synagogue one day and taught the doctrine of Jesus and the gospel. There were no doubt many others wandering the neighborhood of Greece, Asia minor, and Palestine teaching stuff also. How did the Bereans compare Paul's teachings to for example...

It has been mentioned a number of times that it is doctrine we need to critique, and not personal behavior. Yet Jesus at one time said of the Pharisees, that folk should do as they say, (obey their doctrine), but not do as they act (copy their behavior). So I think it is important we give...

Given your perspective on the way the world is, and I agree it's a mess, and considering such a state of affairs to be without doubt a complete departure from God's ways, and consequently viewed from heaven as even more revolting than we could possibly imagine, why would you think it unusual or...

You don't think a church, or denomination, or movement can act as a false prophetic movement?

Praying is our part in a relationship. It doesn't seem prudent to me to claim to have a relationship with Jesus but talk to everyone but. "Depart from Me I never knew you" is not something I ever want to hear. Our reply, "didn't you get the message from Christopher and your mum" won't cut much...
