Do We Believe Everything Jesus Said?

The greatest error of such unbelief, is not believing Jesus when He said “Surely I am coming quickly”, and not in the distant future, as is commonly believed.

Rightly dividing the word... What does that mean?

@stunnedbygrace @Robert Gwin @Enoch111 @marks @Ferris Bueller I should also add to or elaborate what I previously wrote: Based on the full counsel of God in the scriptures, it should be noted that the evening of these appointed ages and these times of darkness has passed, and our course...

    We are dropping the pentagram.

Those are the teachings of men, that simply echo your own idea of what is meant. Which is to assume things that are not in the scriptures. Again, it simply says: "Me" "to live" "Christ." That is all, nothing more, nothing less.

    We are dropping the pentagram.

What "full context of that scripture?" Paul was talking about life and death--his, and he makes it perfectly clear. Not that to live is like Christ, not that to live is of Christ, not that to live is for Christ, not even for him to live "is" Christ...but simply and very directly "Christ."...

    We are dropping the pentagram.

You are adding to the scripture. I know this is a difficult matter, but Paul said, "For to me, to live is Christ." ...Do you also mean to speak against Paul then, or against Jesus, that He too is NOT God, or One with the Father?

    We are dropping the pentagram.

Such a wide brush would have to include many more than Edward Gordon (whom I would rather take to task than ban). The problem with eliminating everyone who has taken a misguided half step, even those who have come up with their own doctrine, and come here or anywhere else...is that would be...

    Veridicans and the apostle Paul?

@Edward Gordon ... I thought I would pull this out of the General Discussion area to address. So, are the writings of the apostle Paul not included in the Veridicans canon? And if not, why, since he is the only one in the Christian Bible that claimed of himself, "for me to live is Christ", a...

Rightly dividing the word... What does that mean?

Okay, great, all of this is good! However, the point I was hoping to address is something that we seem to stumble on in our consideration of the scriptures. We know that they are Spirit and inspired by the Spirit, and life, literally. We also know that they are a two-edged sword cutting both...

    Defining Proper Language

Indeed, we live in an age of sheep living quiet lives...and there is something good and okay about that. But there is also something dark about it, something that is covering the Light of life in us that was never meant to be hidden. As for me, I have had many conversations with God of why I am...

Rightly dividing the word... What does that mean?

2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." I will wait to comment, but it would be good to hear what people say and think...so: What say you? What does that even mean?

    Study to show yourself approved

I think the point we should be taking in, is that it is not a contest-- rather the two One... that is unless it is humanized and made into law or works, a god besides God. We need to study, indeed we do, we should. We also need to test every spirit. But to take a side--that is what is wrong...

    Study to show yourself approved

I really don't want to answer for Amadeus, but I considered his questions to be rhetorical. I believe his story also made the point that even the illiterate could be approved of God according to Paul's words to Timothy; that even a spiritual connection alone was enough...a simple mind who's...

    Study to show yourself approved

This sounds like the other side of the coin, where the other side is a caution not to consider personal study or ones own understanding of what is written as more important than the Spirit by which it was written. Which is good, this too is a valid and biblical point. I too agree and encourage...

Who am I? Who are we? Or what am I?

"New" simply refers to what comes after for those who are born of God. Even the old Earth was new, but "new" in that context refers rather to the "world to come", which was built to be inhabited.

Who am I? Who are we? Or what am I?

...That image of the world and the Earth and us in it as male and female, that mystery, is made clear in Christ, the bride and all that are included as the female, and as Christ [meaning] God as the male. Which is one female and one male, because God is One--in Him we are One, and under Him, as...

Who am I? Who are we? Or what am I?

Inheritance from the God, is from above: The meek shall inherit the New Earth.

Who am I? Who are we? Or what am I?

Before we can fully grasp who we are in the greater scheme of things, we must first come to understand what the world is. Being born into this world we are most inclined to think of the Earth as our home. It is not. So then what is it, and who can answer except Him who created it...and...

There is NO proof text in scripture.

Yes, even worse when those who intend to follow Christ think the same way and adopt the same logic of this world, even before considering or reconciling all of what is written. Is suppose that is problem I had meant to address. If word studies and partial understanding lead to problems between...

There is NO proof text in scripture.

1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." The natural man is limited to the "literary" meaning of the scriptures. Which, if we are not careful...

There is NO proof text in scripture.

I appreciate your heart and explanation, but it does still seem as though you support the idea of laziness to describe people who put the Holy Spirit above studying the word during these days when we have been instructed to do both, but specifically to seek God first and His Helper as He leads...
