Yeah, well, I'm SURE God is happy to have you around. The Holy Spirit can always use a little help.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I believe it more than some on this forum. Anyway, I don't trust my salvation to the bible I TRUST MY SALVATION TO JESUS. Some people think the bible IS GOD.

I agree.

I really dislike speaking about this because it gets too complicated. God did not sit down and write the N.T. He only inspired it. If someone doesn't know what inspired means, they should find out. Somebody sat down and wrote the gospels...maybe the first one about 25 to 30 years after jesus...

Could you stop stating your opinion and post some verses that support your theory. Except of course for John 15:16 which is Jesus speaking about having chosen the apostles. Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers (16) Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you.—Comp. Luke 6:12 et seq., and...

So what give YOU the right to be a watchman? And what does the bible teach you? And please explain why the Holy Spirit tells everyone something different...

Fake News? So you think we have the ACTUAL WORDS that Jesus spoke? Interesting concept.

No need to get huffy. Apparently you don't understand that we don't have THE ORIGINALS or the COPIES of the ORIGINALS. Want me to repeat that a few times till you understand it?

Those that study history seem to know more. And they don't argue about which church was the first church....they know. And I find less dislike for the CC in them.... Maybe because they discover that the wrong was done by man and not by the church... except for the selling of indulgences...this...

No. I could tell all by myself. But maybe it is the spirit...who can know for sure?

I'm not huffy. I'm short on time. So, by original you think I mean that we don't have the ORIGINAL but we have COPIES? And you think the ORIGINAL manuscripts have been preserved? You can believe that if you like...it just doesn't happen to be right. And I'm not going to debate it. Is water...

Oh for goodness sakes. How many times must we go thru this..... Get a commentary...do something.... and stop repeating the same old mistake. John 15:16 is referring to the Apostles. JESUS CHOSE THE APOSTLES. But YOU Chose GOD.

Not too many know about church history or councils. Some persons history seems to begin with the year 1,500 AD. Many Protestant churches are not teaching church history... and I'd say it's time. @Marymog may be interested in this thread too.

Whose spirit? Not all Christians have spirit... They just THINK they do....

Yeah. What a mess indeed. But I don't understand who the King is? 1 Samuel 8 You mean about how Israel demanded a King because they thought they'd be better off being like all the other nations? And they weren't? Is the Pope the King?

No. Nothing specific. I just believed that you would be knowledgeable in this area and I have a lot to learn... so I'll be reading along and hope to know more by the end of this thread. I don't come here to teach as some do... I come here to learn.

No can do. I answer you when we speak.... Even if it's something I've said A THOUSAND TIMES. If you don't care to answer or don't have the time,,,it's OK. To me, the KJ is as good as any other version. And now you know why.

Hi E, Are you aware that the CC has stated that any bible prior to 2008 should be replaced because of the very reason you state above. The previous bibles were translated from the Latin and now they are translated from the original Greek. But what is original about the N.T.? Do we have any...
