Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

It is simpler than that really. If the analogies don't work for you, never mind them. It's like this: God is timeless. History is His story...a story set in time. It is written. It has a story line, but only in the story. We are experience His timeless story in would-be real time. Merry Christmas!

Self analysis of your Christian witness

God is Truth. He is timeless.

It is both. This is the account of your freewill as it is played out. God has laid out our lives in time so we can see it all in detail. But, if we are to know God fully, we will need to come around to His timelessness...or simply wake up to it in the end. This is the mystery of God. Merry...

Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

Color your own canvas as you will - it's a self portrait. If you color it with prayer, so it shall be.

Self analysis of your Christian witness

This life experience is a manifestation of what "is", a narrative explaining the details of who we "are" in the timeless realm of God. We are judge, jury, and witnesses for or against ourselves in this playback of our timeless decision about where we spend the rest of eternity. But, like...

Self analysis of your Christian witness

You misunderstand. You are considering time to be real...when it is just a narrative of what "is."

Self analysis of your Christian witness

The rich man valued riches more than he valued God. He was a "user." He woke up in the world and used everything that had been created for an infinite purpose, for his own finite purpose...and regretted it. As for media... How would you have God describe in detail to a slow audience of...

Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

I was responding to ByGrace's being confused about freewill. I wrote it, but I can't claim it, for it is all just a summation of what God has written. If you will notice, I italicized God's words - which make up most of it: "If an image is created and a Light projected through it over time, is...

Not exactly. If one wavered before the foundation of the world...that is exactly what will be manifest in their lifetime.

A good book is captivating...or not, depending on who reads it.

The Hidden Secrets of Creation - Did God Create Himself?

The question assumes a beginning, which there is with creation, but not with God. He is not the great "I was not, and then I was", but rather "I am", meaning always existing...eternal.

Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

If an image is created and a Light projected through it over time, is that image any different along the way or at the end, than it was in the beginning? No, but what was once unseen, has come to light.

    The Holy Spirit ?

You misspeak. Jesus Himself instructed that all people be baptized "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost", referring to "Him" as "another Helper."

Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

The difficulty comes in imagining that for God, all things are timeless (because it doesn't seem that way to us)...and that is the context that all things actually exist. It is a matter of factoring [out] time. Step two, is to realize that all that we know was written within God's timeless...

Self analysis of your Christian witness

Well...as the parable states, he didn't listen to or take serious the words of the prophets. But, to apply that to what I have been saying...simply makes his not listening, not something he decided within his lifetime, but was the result of who he was and what he would manifest throughout his...

Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

Good question. However, us having freewill or not, takes nothing away from God's ability to choose. But that is not the hair-splitting point of the pinhead we are on. The point is...both...happened before time began - eternally and simultaneously. Then...we could overlay that truth, with the...

Pope wants to change the Lord's Prayer

The Pope apparently is a believer in all grace and no wrath. But he's wrong. If "this is the day the Lord has made" and "sufficient for the day is its own trouble"...then the Lord's prayer is perfect.

Why did God need to give us free will, or did He need to? Do we really have it?

The biblical language walks a fine line (or dare I say dances around) between "choice" and "predestination." But it does so on purpose. You see, the bible is a written record of what occurred "in the twinkling of an eye" "before the foundation of the world." But it is read or unfolded to the...

Oh, okay...and you didn't like my pot full of money comment. Got it. "and how does this serve the Rich Man, then?" If the course of his life is such that he comes to realize that the benefits of money are short lived, and that the greater value is in eternal life...then he will have lost his...
