Christians Must Serve by the Law

Disagree. In January a new grandchild was born. This added to my total. It did not replace all previous grandchildren.

Christians Must Serve by the Law

Even if I agree, iron sharpens iron. A good friend is very philosophical and analytical. We don’t disagree but I do challenge him to be concise. To boil down the axiom to its fewest essentials. Your OP is helping me do that.

Christians Must Serve by the Law

Possibly, but you whole OP points to the notion that we could have a burden, work we ought to do, action to avoid and action to initiate. That seems to generate hostility on this site for some reason.

And hence, why he is on my ignore list. I appreciate and respect reasoned differences. I don’t appreciate or respect being unreasonable or disagreeable. “Your doctrine does not line up with mine, 100%? Burn in hell heretic.” No love of God in that sentiment. LOL.

Christians Must Serve by the Law

The hostility on this site by OSAS crowd to any kind of effort, action or work being a burden Christians must bear is amazing! Jesus said his yoke was light, not that he had no yoke.

Christians Must Serve by the Law

I enjoy analysis - philosophical discussion and debate. I can take an opposing point of view JUST for the sake of discussion. Heaven forbid I go through life and might change my mind about anything! It’s so odd that some people take ideas as a personal affront. Threads like this is why I am on...

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

The only point of contention is the necessity of water. Sometimes when I call my wife, I use a phone. Using a phone is not necessary. The thief on the cross did not need water. I think we should differentiate between tradition and Scriptural requirement.

I do and will respond this evening to it in more detail.

Christians Must Serve by the Law

It’s interesting how fully the ignore feature works. Implied is people I have put on ignore are posting in this thread contrary to the Spirit of the OP. They just want to pontificate their doctrine without analyzing a stand alone idea and deduce where that leads.

Christians Must Serve by the Law

Great topic! Just had numerous emails exchanged with my pastor on point.

    Proof that Jesus is God

Strawman. A word is not a him or he. See John 6:60.

    Once Saved Always Saved

No. The heart of OSAS is to deny the pre-requisite action, work, necessary BEFORE grace is established. To double down on this, OSAS invented a time independent forgives for sins yet to be committed. That OSAS is not universalism reveals the inherent contradiction. Action on our part is...

    Proof that Jesus is God

A word is not a who. That is how you know it is figurative. All prophets speak the word of God. The Word (of God) is not a who but a what. The same Greek words are used in John 6:60 that is translated ‘this’ word not ‘who’ word. Jesus is the prophet Moses wrote about who God would put his words...

    Once Saved Always Saved

Action. Needed. Denying. The heart of OSAS.

    Once Saved Always Saved

No. Work. Works. Not the same. What do you not understand about this? No one gets grace without first doing the pre-requisite internal work. No one. Not even Jesus got the Holy Spirit until after he took action, to go to the Immerser and get immersed. This prerequisite work is not a one and...

    Are you an Apostate?

    I am a Trinitarian Apostate.

    Once Saved Always Saved

Hearing is an action, a verb; work, it is. And this denial of necessary action on our part is at the heart of OSAS.

    Once Saved Always Saved

Absolutely not! Work <> Works. What part of this do you not get?

    Bigger Than Life Humility

This has been on my mind for a while. If someone is living right with God, they show it by living with such humility as to bring tears to those who are paying attention. I'll start off sharing 3 examples. Rush Limbaugh: Just heard the podcast by Bo Sneardly. The day he announced to his staff...

    Once Saved Always Saved

You're welcome. It also happens to be what my congregation teaches. Anyone can say they believe anything. It is meaningless without action. Action separates real faith from lip service death. Of course, Jesus is the Savior. However, this is who he is, not what he does (present tense). This is...
