The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

I see plenty of evidence in the bible to call death death and life life, and resurrection Resurrection, and I'm not a JW or ever have been, I sometimes wonder what qualities of God those people are worshiping who believe he would keep his creatures alive only to suffer unspeakable torment for...

    No place to rest

I tend to hide away from people and places. I suffer from some form of depression/anxiety disorder. I dip my toes into the world now and again and I try to ‘fit in’ but end up withdrawing just as fast. I struggle with debate and negativity, not because it scares me but because I can have a very...

    The Great Crowd

I would be interested especially in the tabernacle study, do you have that blog somewhere?

    The Great Crowd

I do find it interesting, but it is complicated, I'm not sure it would be something easily understood.

    No place to rest

This world and our nature in it are good examples of what we don't want in the world to come. Let's hope we remember.

Do you still believe in Pastor Russel's calculations regarding the Great Pyramid' then? Detailed in Studies of the Scriptures.

    The Great Crowd

It's an interesting read. Highly recommended for current Jehovah's Witnesses. I’ve read a lot about Rutherford. I agree he is the beginning of the modern day Jehovah’s witnesses. Have you ever seen how they apply themselves to prophesy regarding the two witnesses of revelation, the ‘day...

    The Great Crowd

I agree there is to be an earthly 2nd resurrection (just as the Jews believed) which will happen in the millennium, what I don't agree with is that there are two classes of believers of Jesus right now, before the millennium. Now is the time for Jesus to sort through our hearts and find his...

    The Great Crowd

I'm assuming you're part of the bible students organization who broke off from JW's way back then.

The #1 problem with this forum is…..

My theory is, there was never meant to be an established organisation complete with a rule book. the break down of control over Christians started in the bible after Jesus rose. Jesus put the worship and obedience to God squarely onto each individual's shoulders. I'm not sure the details matter...

    The Great Crowd

Romans 8:2 For the law of the spirit that gives life in union with Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Read the rest of Romans 8. If you do not receive the spiritual calling, you are marked for death. No two ways about it.

    The Great Crowd

It's amazing how you both know such a detailed account of the kingdom, you would have thought the apostles knew some of this, but no. They were in ignorance it seems where Jesus rule was concerned, even after Pentecost.

    All eschatological views are correct?

who are you directing these things to?

    All eschatological views are correct?

The Lake of Fire - Gehenna The Valley of Hinnom, named Gehenna in Greek, lies just outside the city of Jerusalem. During Jesus’ time, it was the city’s garbage burner. Its fires were kept continually burning (an everlasting lake of fire!) to fully consume all things dumped there. Brimstone used...

    All eschatological views are correct?

Also, the Eastern Orthodox church don't believe in a fiery hell, and they are as old as the Catholics.

    All eschatological views are correct?

I'm only talking about eternal torment, that is completely different to the issues you raised above so there is no point bringing them into the conversation. I kind of knew you would.

    All eschatological views are correct?

Actually the Pope is making statements about hell most recently, POPE JOHN PAUL II this year stated that Hell is not a physical place but “the state of those who freely and definitively separate themselves from God.” He denied that Hell is a place of fiery torment and described it rather as “the...
