GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

16 “Who has known the mind of the Lord

so that he can teach him?”

However, we have the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16
King James Version (KJV)

16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

My thoughts.

We can not teach the Lord anything but thru Christ we can learn things of the Spirit.

†. 1Cor 2:13-16 . .These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but
which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does
not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know
them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he
himself is rightly judged by no one. For "who has known the mind of The Lord that he may
instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

The portion in parenthesis is paraphrased from Isaiah 40:13 where the question is asked: "Who
is able to advise the Spirit of The Lord? Who knows enough to be his teacher or counselor?"

The very same question can be asked of a spiritual man whose mind is no longer the mind of
Adam, but the mind of God's son. In other words: Who knows enough to be Christ's teacher?
Well; people on earth not only don't know enough to be Christ's teacher; but even if they did;
they wouldn't know what to teach him, nor how to go about getting him to understand.

For this reason: every Sunday school teacher is like a blind man in a dark room looking for a
black cat that isn't there if he happens have seated in his class a spiritual man with the mind of
Christ; viz: the Sunday school teacher hasn't a clue what to teach that man, nor how to go about
getting him to understand unless by a miracle of providence God's Spirit gets involved.

The apostle Paul was quoting from Isaiah 40:13 at 1 Corinthians 2:16 (as well at Rom 11:34), whereby it should read: "For "who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him ?" But we do have the mind of Christ." (New World Translation) This Scripture clearly separates Jesus from his Father and God, Jehovah, for we can peer into the mind of Christ as a perfect man, revealing much about the "kingdom".

However, it is impossible to grasp Jehovah's mind, for his level of knowledge is forever beyond our understanding. Ecclesiastes 3 says: "Everything he (Jehovah ) has made pretty in its time. Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the true God has made from the start to the finish."(Ecc 3:11) The magnitude of the universe and the complexity of the forces and interactions within the subatomic structure of the atom for the universe and all life to exist is way beyond us, even if a person lives forever while studying this.

For example, DVDs have been created that can hold to over 5 gigabytes of information on one disc. But of the DNA, which stores our instructions for us personally to live, is far, far, far more able to hold information. One gram (0.035274 oz.) of DNA carries as much information as a trillion CDs could. Packing the DNA into the nucleus of a cell is an amazing feat of engineering - like packing 24 miles of very fine thread into a tennis ball.

DNA is so dense with information that a single teaspoon of it could carry the instructions for building about 350 times the number of humans alive today ! The DNA required for the seven billion people living on earth now would barely make a film on the surface of that teaspoon.(Nano Letters, "Enumeration of DNA Molecules Bound to a Nanomechanical Oscillator", by B. Ilic, Y. Yang, K. Aubin, R. Reichenbach, S. Krylov, and H.G. Craighead, Vol 5, 2005, pp. 925, 929)
