Its not a parable Ron. Its a very direct statement. ALL the promised land, they possessed it and dwelt in it. The passage is quite clear and unambiguous, and I understand it quite well thanks, as does everyone else who isn't trying to twist it to fit into some preconceived narrative.
Well you need to look at it grammatically. It is a direct statement but unfortunately you are taking the and simple translation instead of looking into the grammar of the Hebrew and HISTORY!

Israel has yet to occupy all the promised land from the Nile to the Euphrates to the Mediterranean. If you bothered to look at the Hebrew and understand it from that perspective, and then look at history, you would walk away with the same view I have
