Many people have pinned their hopes on a Biden presidency. They see America from a certain perspective, and are convinced that Biden and Harris, and the party they represent, are the ones to bring their nation closer to what they envisage as a successful, prosperous, fair and just society. And of course they are fully entitled to their viewpoint.
Then there are others, no doubt at the present time bitterly disappointed, who backed Trump to the hilt, believing him and those closest to his administration capable of bringing the nation into a time of prosperity and peace, void of corruption and the threat of socialist and/or communist policies. America is divided along those lines, more or less. Not to say there weren't many who thought independents more capable of success, but I think just two extremes sum up the current situation.
to be honest, I am glad I am not in either camp. Sure, I preferred one over the other, but my peace of mind and emotional well being isn't so intimately connected to either party or either individual that my worry meters begin to break down into overload in anticipation of uncontrollable disaster and te end of the world. I am in fact, no less at peace today than I was this time 5 years ago when Obama was in control. Nor 30 years ago when Reagan was in control. Because politics has never, or will ever, be God's means by which His people are established, or His kingdom strengthened and enlarged. Two things will continue, and neither will be affected by either Trump's departure (and yes, there are some who think he is coming back) or Biden's arrival (and yes, there are some who think he'll still be arrested, along with several dozen others). Those two things are the gospel, and prophecy.
No-one is saved, or sanctified by politics. Politics may be an interesting maybe even entertaining side-show, and the curiosity of current events was the theme behind this thread, but there are more important things in life. The gospel must still be preached. Christ and Him crucified must still be revealed to people, be they democrat, republican, or other.
As for prophecy, regardless of who is administering government, God will not go into panic mode, climb down from His throne and give it to His enemy. He has not, nor will He abdicate His sovereignty just because January 20th turned into January 21st. The first beast of Revelation 13, the Papacy, will still reign over the earth, for a short time. The second beast of Revelation 13, the United States of America, through the influence and politicking of an apostate Protestant church, will still form an image to the first beast, a union of church and state and will enforce religious doctrine in line with Catholic dogma opposed to the commandments of God. That cannot be stopped. And either a republican administration or a democrat could fulfill that role. My peace lies in the fact that God still reigns. His love still endures. And His truth is still Truth.
The way to salvation is still through Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth.
