The question which I had asked to Anthony, said post you responded to, but not with an answer, with question, as if one would cancel the other.
Read your words above, about not being able to answer Biblically, and answer Biblically, where is foreknow defined in the Bible as other than know know ahead of time. Predestine is a different word.
There is no answer. This is trying to avoid recognizing that fact.
Thanks for attempting, but the above is fancy dodging which is why it's incoherent, and it goes against what you've adhered to in the past. You're being disingenuous. Sorry, but it's true.
and in fact . . .
This isn't a question I can answer since it doesn't really fit with what I understand from the Bible. It's not the choosing, it's the believing. God calls, we believe, and He regenerates.
Regeneration follows believing, John 1:
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Much love!
OK. Let me address this. If God gets all the glory, you receive how much? A teensy bit for deciding to believe? The fact you think you decided shows choosing as the means, although you try to deny this fact. Your unbiblical belief system, innate in man brings man to a point of saying, in his ability, either yes or no to God.
That's choosing.
Belief isn't innate in man, it is not inherent. You realize this, correct? Yes or no? Let's examine it biblically:
Faith is external and comes from God through the word, Romans 10:17; and is given by God to his elect; Romans 12:3; and is via the same source of power that resurrected Christ; Ephesians 1:19, and, it is granted to his elect as well as suffering; Philippians 1:29. Since it was granted by God, it is not what you did nor what anyone did, but is the work of God; John 6:29.
So no man believes by their own will, as John 1:13 states, but it is all from God.
Now, you can, as you do, go again and argue for yourself and what you did, and lay claim of yourself and your believing, but Scripture denies this. God saves alone, it is all to his glory. The fact you believe is because of him, not you.
Read carefully 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 without reading your tradition into it. There is no boasting, not even believing, because this was granted also. Perhaps one day you'll believe this and give God all the glory, not just 99,% and you 1% "for believing."
