I just finished watching David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet, which is a Leftist Analysis of World Population Growth. Two points I want to explore:
  1. Confounding Fossil Fuel Economics with Population Growth
  2. Downplaying The Death of the West via Suicidal Birth Rates
Near the end of the film David repeatedly relied on imagination or theory of a socialist utopia of rainbow's and unicorns as far as the eye can see. "Imagine" he said with increasing excitement. And one imagined scenario fueled his excitement for another imagined scenario, each increasingly divorced from reality. Let's examine the first domino, the socialist utopia's Holy Grail, "sustainable energy."

1. Fossil Fuel Economics

The Left's Holy Grail of "sustainable energy" is at odds with their complete disregard for "sustainable deficit spending." This is the first contradiction in their imagined socialist utopia. A meme I saw yesterday said it well. Socialism: An idea so good, it has to be mandatory.

"Imagine" David first said a world were "sustainable energy" is used and not fossil fuels, which is causing our problems. It's completely backwards but I will limit the analysis so the OP is not too long. The fact is, "sustainable energy" is an energy and financial sink, not source! That is, you have to spend more money and energy to get the energy from it.

Whenever they talk about 'investment' they should be shot. No business can continue to invest $1 and get a return of $0.85. No life form can continue to expend more energy than it gets in return, except it seems the good-intentioned socialists.

Fossil fuels are 25-30% cheaper than "sustainable energy" sources.

I won't belabor the point of 'greedy profit.' Economic margin analysis points us to examine who will starve and die in pursuing this "public good."

2. Suicidal Birth Rates of The West

While overall human population climbs, it is well established in Pat Buchanan's Book, Death of the West, that traditionally Christian countries have suicidal birth rates. Explosions in human population, more than compensating for this are from non-Christian cultures of Africa, Asia and Islam.

Disregard for Western Civilization dying off is the second contradiction in their imagined socialist utopia of sustainability.

COMMENT

I've long said the biggest hoax in the history of the world is man-made global warming. Hysterically, we are often told CO2 and temperatures are at all time highs. Nonsense! We are recovering from all time low's. Plants don't grow well in low CO2 atmosphere's. I've used this thumbnail graph in many on-line posts on the subject. Consider it well.

you should note the same travels in planes here and there and uses fossil fuel just as anyone else. but you should do this or that for your own and the good of the planet. because they are the judge of what is good and evil, just ask them.

friend they're full of it, there is some one looking to make a truck load of money selling the bill of goods this guy is. law makers want the money they get for making laws that force the use of what he's selling, but first you have to convince enough of the public to get them to look like its in the interest of the public.

One valid point in the film was the ratio of large meat eaters to prey, 100:1 in the wild. And how humans eliminating meat from their diet would dramatically lower our land demand for food sources.

If the last US election was won by a majority of Americans who believe in this Socialist utopia, we should be seeing a corresponding decrease in meat consumption. That we are not seeing this shows socialists do not truly believe in their own ideology.

of course not, they just want you to believe in their bull. also china doesn't have a great meat production, they grow rice though.

back when socialism dominated Russia they would pay a months wage for a pair of American jeans in the 70's. the ruling class was still a ruling class of which the peasantry served. the comrade would wait in long lines for a roll of toilet paper (sound familiar) or a loaf of bread. the ruling class didn't have those problems.

its, more for me, less for you ruling class, all the time.

what would happen to the farmers who do produce meat should their line of thinking take hold? they would crash financially. you'd have to float a loan to buy a pound of ground meat. which is the desire of the socialist because the farmers are conservatives and will not buckle under so the alternative is to put them in the poor house, therefore ineffective in political and financial influences. stalin starved out 10 million Ukrainians who were worked to death producing wheat on what was once their farms.

in the US there's this power known as BLM (Bureau of Land Management) which is a gov land management and all they have to do is put all the failed farms under their care. right now which has been the policy is to subsidize farms so as to never go hungry. if these people do what they want one famine and they will have control of food and fear of the people.

they already listen to everything said, 911 gave them that opportunity. media manages censorship of what a person can say in public, you will be fired hence the people will fear that won't they?

its working as far as limiting "free speech" by demonizing everything they disagree with. Christianity is on that block they want to eliminate.

It's the same thing with lowering ones "Carbon Footprint." They don't even consider voluntarily not using their furnace, AC, cell phone, computer, SUV's, private jets, or mansions across the world.

all of that is for money, nothing in the free world gets any interest or attention, unless there's money in it.
