Anyone in here big into biodiversity, especially helping to erase fears of wildlife?

I am a big fan of biodiversity. It’s one of the reasons why I am big into “stewardship theology” and “creation care”. Some species get demonized and when seen often meet violent deaths or trauma because of people going into fight or flight mode.

All of God’s creatures are here for a purpose, being part of God’s plan for our planet and us. Thus, we should be cautious about eradicating species that cause us problems. On the other hand, we also driven to control the “pests” that harm us. In other words, good stewardship of the land and oceans is a balancing act.

So: what should we do when a species we inadvertently introduce into the environment wrecks havoc with indigenous species? Example: constrictors in Florida.

When this is brought up this is my honest opinion. The biggest threat to wildlife is not invasive wildlife. It’s humanity. It’s overpopulation. It’s the overturning of close to 150 environmental laws by the previous and upcoming party. Its homes being stuck built instead of concrete and steel so rooftop gardens can replace the displaced habitat below. There are several approaches to invasive species. The main issue is that there is no training and permit in place for owning most of them. Places like Pet Smart need to be held accountable for wildlife they sell that gets released. The people need to push for stricter laws against non native plants and animals. We need people in the government who care about the marginalized of society and its wildlife. If you own a non native species, plant or animal, or even fungi, you need to be trained on how it’s dangerous to ecology and not be permitted to just release it. Take cats. Fix your cats and keep them indoors or build outdoor enclosures like enclosed catwalks and cat trees. The best way to stop an invasive species is to not allow people to have them to begin with.

Life is a symbiotic relationship with plants and animals we live because they live.If they die we die.They provide everything for us we provide nothing we take and give nothing back.That is why we need to protect the environment we are stewards of Gods creation.But that's no how people see it.
