Anyone into hiking or foraging? I’m presuming entertainment does not mean media only.

I’m really big into a lot of outdoorsy stuff such as hiking, and foraging for wild edible native plants and mushrooms. I enjoy field botany and working through keys to ID plants and learn their habits and studying all the local native flora and fauna. Snakes, spiders and plants are my main focuses. Working on learning the 21 species of oak in my county.

what types of areas do you like hiking? I really like hiking the coastal sand plains of southeastern USA. I guess my favorite areas to hikes are forests that are ecologically managed with plenty of creeks running through it or bordering a larger delta system.

Heavily dense Forests, with plenty of wildlife and brooks, streams, ponds and lakes.

That’s a a few of the species of spiders and snakes I’ve found in the last year. The first spider is a wolf spider. The second is a golden silk orb weaver. The snake is a gray rat snake and the second one is my favorite snake, the eastern mud snake.

Just to digress slightly, is there anybody here who's into post-apocalyptic survival like me?
I mean prepping and stuff, and I hang in survivalist forums talking about equipment, tactics and so on for when it hits the fan.

This is my Kombat UK tent which ticks all the right boxes, it's single skin for light weight, camo pattern to make it hard for zombies to spot it, it's got mesh along the lower side walls for ventilation, and a neat overhanging porch bit that stops rain from slanting down into the open door.
The only downside is that it's two-person size which means a stinking pal might want to get in with you..
