The bible will say whether God answers. When there is silence, it doesn't. Luke recorded it all. If Peter said "and God answered", Luke would have recorded it. Luke recorded Pentecost and the 120 there. In fact, Mathias is never mentioned again. Pentecost was later, the bible doesn't say how long. Pentecost and choosing Matthias are two different events.

Jesus named the 12 apostles in Matthew 10:2, so Jesus was talking to an unnumbered amount of disciples. There is not 1 apostle named in the entire chapter 18.
