You believe the above applies to all churches?
Show me two churches that agree with one another, in everything, just 2, even the RC has its different bits as BOL goes on about, " Is Christ divided'?? People are pretty good at hiding there true self from people, can be the nicest people on sunday, Know it well, coming from South Africa where people would go to mass than walk out and kick the first black man that walked past them. It is why we are suppsoed to have "eyes to see and ears to hear".

God bless

It always amazes me that we have the same story, but reversed. There was no spiritual growth in Protestantism - everyday was trying to recreate the first day of salvation Mrs. Havisham wedding day....

One altercall after another.....
After being raised RC I was saved while not attending any church at age 24. After 'shopping around a bit', including of course the local Catholic church, I settled on the AOG. After years of what you so clinically describe, I fell away altogether. Repented at age 42 and allowed God to start again. Been in my present church for 23 years. My church does not promote itself as the catalyst for growth, but constantly points to the Saviour and His power and grace to transform the life through prayer, Bible study, fellowship.

OK....That has nothing to do with The Catholic Church.

It has to do with the people of the church you attended and how they were trying to teach you a lesson. There is no Catholic doctrine/dogma about putting money in an envelope and numbering it.

Keeping it real....Mary;)
Mary, if you want to keep it real, then you talk about what real people do, not what'
s written on a piece of paper somewhere.

I feel sorry for those who go to church because they are missing out on the best things in God, If they would but ask, but so few do.

And I feel sorry for those who don't go to church because they contradict the clear teaching of Scripture.

Heb 10:24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
Heb 10:25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Scripture is written on paper.

Your story has NOTHING to do with the Catholic Church and it’s doctrine/dogma. So why did you title it the way you did?

Not every experience we have with the Catholic Church involves doctrine/dogma.
Even experiences we have with priests, no matter how unfair, reflect on the CC;this is because they represent it and might be all a person knows about it.

A woman I know will no longer go to church, although she tells me she has not abandoned God.

Yes, I imagine you were forced to do a lot of things.
I know about it.
I've been there.
I was never "forced" to do any of those things.
I was raised by Catholic parents who were well-catechised in their faith.

People like YOU and Grams cowardly blame everything on other people. Take some responsibility for yourselves.
It's really pathetic . . .

Well, BreadOfLife,
You did not go to the one I went to, plus I do not think the same years???
Things were way different back then ? I have a girl friend who changed from one C.C.
to another they moved...... and she is saved...... NOW!
After going from grade one to grade 6, I was never told to read the bible.......
Do you think in all those years I was not paying attention ?
My mother is older than YOU are and she was raised as a Bible-reading Catholic.

As to your question - YES, I do think that you weren't paying attention or you would never have abandoned your faith.
EVERY ex-Catholic I've even met left because of ignorance of what the Church teaches. You later fell for the feel-good, easy-believeism of Protestantism which didn't hold you responsible for much so it made you "feel" better . . .

because that's what I have experienced in the romanist church
You seem to be recalling this experience in a church that happened to be Catholic as a negative experience.

Have you ever had a negative experience in a Protestant Church?

Hi GG,

Does that mean every experience I have with a Protestant preacher reflects on all Protestant Churches? Or on all the members of the Church he/she started??

Not if you're an intelligent person...
Not unless you have an axe to grind.

Not everyone is intelligent...
Some have an axe to grind.

Re the OP
I'm sure he's basing his beliefs on more than one experience.

Mr. Breadman, the good little romanist boy.
Yeah, the type we all use to beat up.

That doesn't surprise me. Your posts are an open door into a frightening world of confused anger issues with your parents and childhood authority figures.

As for "Romanist" - what is a "Romanist"??
What do thy teach?

What do they teach specifically?
I'm not familiar with this sect.
romanist in general are any of those aliens that called themselves catholics in a roman supported church personally, being an American, I would prefer to go to the American catholic church, but the romanist seem to have a monopoly on this
They teach catechism and errantly preach the Bible on ocassion.
