Like it or not though, support for the Iran war is indeed declining, even among Republican voters.

Boaz in all sincerity.
Yahoonews does not speak for MAGA.

The Propaganda is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
But I don't think it's only on one side, I think they are doing it to all of us.
You want to know how people really feel you will have to talk to them face to face or one on one.
Because just about everything we are seeing on the tv or on the internet I believe has been hijacked and there is a glitch in the system.
I'll put it this way,
Yahoonews doesn't speak for me.
Other people, you should ask them yourself.
Hugs

I just don't know if any of this is real or is it all AI?

I think I'm going to go pray in my closet and let the world do what it's going to do.
Somebody wake me when it's over.

it Tells you what it wants you to see and hear and believe

Well then Christians need to learn how to walk in Divine Rebellion which is how Jesus lived.

Jesus refused to submit to or to be controlled by the forces of darkness controlling the world when He walked the earth as He lived in open rebellion against the forces of darkness.

We should be doing the same!

The only way I see that even being a possibility is to shut off all electronics that have access into your home and into your mind.
And we are so accustomed and controlled and habitually addicted.
It's hard to walk away isn't it?

People think that. It is not a name it is the Greek word for healer.
Miriam, Yeshua's mother would not give her Son a Greek word for a name.
Yeshua's name was a common and popular name......no one in history is named Ἰησοῦς (Iēsous).
Yeshua or Yehoshua is like Ed or Edward, meaning Yahweh saves or Yahweh is salvation. But the Greek has no word for Yahweh. So Ἰησοῦς cannot contain the meaning Yahweh.
College level information, a lot of the source material is corrupted because people want to think Yeshua's name is Jesus.
But the fact is no historical appearance of the word Jesus before the 17th century. Even the King James Version used the word Iēsous in the 16th century until around the time of Shakespeare when the letter J was becoming popular and the word Jesus appeared almost out of thin air. People have speculated where it came from but I do not believe it....
If you try to try to translate Jesus back into the Kione Greek, there is no word equivalent, closest words are Zeus or Hey horse.
Again, no J's in the Bible because the letter or sound did not exist.....ie Yob....Yoshua.....Yacob.....etc.
Beyond that LOL we can spell and pronounce His name in English.....why come up with Ted or Bob or Jesus.
1) God chose to use Greek, not Hebrew, when He gave us the New Testament.

2) Greek: Ἰησοῦς
Transliteration: Iēsous
Pronunciation: ee-ay-sooce'
Definition: Of Hebrew origin [H3091];
Jesus (that is Jehoshua) the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites: - Jesus.
KJV Usage: Jesus (972x), Jesus (Joshua) (2x), Jesus (Justus) (1x).

3) The earliest translation of the Old Testament (and the one that Jesus and His disciples quoted from) ,was in Greek , and is called the Septuagint.

4) The New Testament uses the name "Jesus" instead of "Joshua" because the New Testament was originally written in Greek, and "Jesus" is the English evolution of how the Hebrew name Joshua is spelled and pronounced in Greek.Jesus and Joshua are actually the exact same name. The difference in modern Bibles is entirely due to whether a name was translated into English directly from the Hebrew Old Testament or the Greek New Testament. The linguistic journey of the name explains how this divergence happened:1. The Greek Translation FilterIn the original Hebrew and Aramaic, the name was Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) or its shortened everyday form, Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ). When the New Testament authors wrote the Gospels in Greek, they had to transliterate Yeshua using the Greek alphabet. However, Greek lacks two key phonetic elements found in Hebrew:No "Y" sound: Greek has no letter for the "Y" sound, so authors substituted the vowel Iota (Ι).No "Sh" sound: Greek has no "sh" sound, so authors substituted the "S" sound using the letter Sigma (σ).To make the name fit Greek grammar rules (which require male names to end in a consonant so they can be properly inflected), they added a final "s". This transformed Yeshua into Iesous (Ἰησοῦς).2. The Precedent of the SeptuagintThe New Testament writers didn't invent this spelling. Two centuries earlier, Jewish scholars translated the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek (a version called the Septuagint). When they translated the Book of Joshua, they spelled the character's name as Iesous. In the eyes of first-century Greek speakers, Moses's successor and the Messiah shared an identical name.3. The Path to EnglishThe name evolved across languages over centuries:Hebrew/Aramaic: YeshuaGreek: IesousLatin: IesusEnglish: Jesus (after the letter "J" was introduced to represent the hardened sound). Why English Bibles Keep Them SeparateModern English Bible translators separate the names strictly to avoid confusing the reader. If translators used "Joshua" everywhere, the New Testament would read, "Joshua Christ, the son of David." Conversely, if they used "Jesus" everywhere, the Old Testament would feature "Jesus, the successor of Moses".To keep the historical figures distinct, translators leave the Old Testament name in its direct Hebrew-to-English form (Joshua) and the New Testament name in its Greek-to-English form (Jesus).

The "jay" sound entered Western languages much later, specifically in 1524, when Italian Renaissance scholar Gian Giorgio Trissino formally separated the consonant "J" from the vowel "I".

5) And most importantly, JESUS is the name that is above all names.
The only logical application of using the Hebrew name is if you spoke ancient Hebrew. But even the jews at the time of Christ SPOKE GREEK.
They would have said His name in Greek .

So, are you an ancient jew? Why do you feel it necessary to use any other name but Jesus?

Philippians 2:10-11 KJV
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Find the scripture that God decided for them to write the New Testament in Greek.
Again, no J's in the scriptures.
There are Hebrew words in the New Testament so they could have used Yeshua's name and they did not.
As it is they remove Yahweh's name from the Old Testament and Yeshua's name is not in the New Testament and the name of the Holy Spirit was not revealed.

3) The earliest translation of the Old Testament (and the one that Jesus and His disciples quoted from) ,was in Greek , and is called the Septuagint.

Correct.

The New Testament uses the name "Jesus" instead of "Joshua"

The word Jesus is not in the scriptures, and Yoshua is not used as Yeshua's name, they used the Greek word for healer for His name. Again no J's in the scriptures.

The "jay" sound entered Western languages much later, specifically in 1524, when Italian Renaissance scholar Gian Giorgio Trissino formally separated the consonant "J" from the vowel "I".

The names of people and places can be translated and spelled in English.
So, are you an ancient jew? Why do you feel it necessary to use any other name but Jesus?

The names of the Gods are important.....Yahweh and Yeshua, why rename them?
The scriptures say there is only one name that can be called upon for salvation.

Philippians 2:10-11 KJV
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

10 That at the name of healer every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Again the word Jesus does not appear in the scriptures and they do not use the Yoshua for Christ name.

Why was it changed from Emmanuel to Jesus?
Mat 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

It wasn't. The word Jesus is not in the scriptures. The word first appeared in the 17th century.
Emmanuel was what He was, not His name. Yeshua was His name but that is not in the scriptures either.
They gave Him a Greek word for a name-----Ἰησοῦς (Iēsoûs) is the Greek word for healer.

One of those oddities, Yahweh's name was removed from the Old Testament and Yeshua's name was never in the New Testament.

No wrestle.
The church fathers never went back and forth about the name of Jesus??????? LOL Oh my gosh!!!!
The church fathers never knew or heard of the name Jesus. Up to the first addition of the King James Version Iēsous was used for Yeshua's name. No one knows where the word Jesus came from but in the 17th century it became popular and the King James Version switched from Iēsous to Jesus.

Being a Theologian and Christian historian I am interested in accuracy.

The Iranian Defense
Iran’s government argues it has not violated the core tenets of the NPT. Their legal defense rests on the premise that Article IV of the NPT guarantees nations an "inalienable right" to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, which they interpret to include uranium enrichment.
Only to a certain level. It is Irans persistence in going well beyond enrichment for peaceful purposes. Put this together with their continual terrorist activity around the world in financing terrorist groups and development of balllistic misiles. Which they often use to indescriminately bomb other nations including Arab nations.

Then its a big red flag that they are not serious and need to be made to fully comply. That means having inspections of all the facilities and removing excess levels of enriched uranium. That they refuse this only shows they are hiding something. I would not trust one word they say that they are complying.
They view their reductions in IAEA cooperation as a legal retaliation against Western nations failing to uphold their economic commitments under the JCPOA. Amid ongoing sanctions and geopolitical pressure, the Iranian parliament has routinely drafted legislation threatening to withdraw from the NPT entirely.
Yes a bit like they view invading and slaughtering innocents is legal retailiation. Or funding other terrorist like Hezbullah and bombing Arab nations as legal retaliation.
As soon as Trump tore up the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran Nuclear Deal, Iran is justified to do what it needs to do.
Does that include funding terror groups like Hamas to invade another nation and butcher innocents. Where does the line stop in justified defense or attacks.

As far as I understand Iran has often breach the agreements. If Iran wants to wipe Isreal off the map then it logically follows that a nuclear bomb is the perfect weapon. People need to get real. This is a radical ideology that wants a world war as this is the fullfillment of their belief in a Holy war against the infidels. They are no different to Hitler. This is literally making excuses for a Hitlet type of regime.
You see, Iran should have been left alone. They were not a threat to the sovereignty of the US. They never possessed a nuclear weapon.
They were and are a threat to the world. To world peace. Their insistent fatwah against Isreal and funding of terrorim around the world is what is threatening world peace. They live in a prehistory mindset like barbarians due to their radical beliefs. This is not the majority of Muslims. But unfortunately the religion also sporns radicals who are in positions of power and influence.

You would agree that the world would be better and safer if all nations at least respected the values and principles most nations have agreed on. Such as the HR charters, Bill or Rights, democracy and the freedoms we all want to live as humans.

The Iranian regime and others like it don't believe in those values and principles and in fact see this as infidels. They want to spread their radical Islam to all. They want to wipe Isreal off the face of the earth. Thus they are an active threat. They have admitted this themselves. Don't fall for the propaganda.
And I have no problem with that if they did, because then Israel would back off from trying to destroy them so they can get their " greater Israel" land grab going. THAT'S ALL THAT THIS IS ABOUT. No one messes with a country that has nukes. That's the point. The Goyim have been brainwashed by the jewish run media for the last 40 years that they would be a threat to humanity if they had one. Well what about Pakistan? North Korea? And yes, even Israel? Who determines when one of those countries goes off the deep end? It's a big Psy-op so we can be continually misinformed and fearful of what happens to be a beautiful country with a very rich history, full of citizens like ours....productive, pro family, and very concerned of the two Satans that continually provoke them.
Apart from North Korea I think most of those nations are at least open to reasoning. Pakistan is actually helping with the negociations between Iran and the US and Isreal. But I think everyone knows nukes and North Korea is a bad and threatening mix. Just like Iran.

Isreal is also a democratic nation and I hate when people equate them as being the same as the Iranian regime and the terrorist that surround them and have been trying to wipe them out now for centuries. If not millenia.

Like I said earlier of all nations that would deserve the best defence weapons to defend themselves it would be Isreal. Surrounded by nations that have clearly said they want to wipe them off the face of the earth.

Imagine your house is surrounded by neighbours who have told you they want to kill you and your family off the map. This has been Isreals situation. They do not initiate attacks unless there is good reason. Sometimes in response to clear and present danger from their neighbours to avert their neighbours achiving their stated mission.

They would have to be constantly concerned and prepared. I mean they built the 'Iron Dome' to stop attacks and not make them. That shows how much the neighbouring nations rain bombs down on them.
LET'S JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE!
Yes if they left Isreal alone and accepted that they have a right to exist as a nation in the land they now occupy then everything would be good.

But they don't and never will so long as they have power to do so. They have stated this. That so long as Isreal exists they will never stop attacking Isreal.

Isreal occupies a tiny bit of land in among many Muslim nations. Do they want it all to be Muslim. It seems so according to a growing number of radicals shouting 'from the river to the sea". Isreal is already around 20% Muslim. How many Isrealis or Jews live in Muslim nations ?

I agree just leave that tiny bit of land to Isreal and leave them alone and we will have peace in the middle east and a better world.

Well, I don't study religious history very much, but wasn't it the Roman Catholic Church that was trying to remove anything that had it's foundation in Judaism? Like changing the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day?
The first day, God created Light, and the seventh day God rested.
On the sabbath day, the last day, Jesus was in the tomb.
On the first day, The Light rose from the dead.
Bookends.

So they change history so you can't find out the end from the beginning.
Yeshua is too OT for the NT so they fixed it.

That's the only way I can make heads and tails out of it.

The Lord's Day....Sunday was established by the Gentile-Christians before the end of the first century.
There is a lot of history attached to that.
The Gentile-Christians were not allowed in the Temple and by the end of the 1st century they were in control of Christianity.

Assumptions tend to be inaccurate.

Correct.

College linguest.....I have heard all this......Where they bored?
They waited until the 17th century to come up with the word Jesus?
Joshua....No J's in the Bible. Yoshua.....Yeshua. O la la.

The letter J and its sound.

I get that you like the name Jesus....have a blast.
Born again Christians that read the Bible in the English language trust in the name of Jesus Christ. My point in all of this is that the ones who generally find that Name to be a problem usually have a nefarious agenda. For example the rabbis associate " yeshua" with " metatron" who is ultimately Satan. And this is from the kabbalah, the "mystical side" of judaism.

Also the Septuagint and the Majority text do not dabble into all of those names. It's basically "Lord" , "God" and "Jesus" in the English language.
