Some of the previous times Trump has threatened and later called off strikes on Iran

By Catherine Nicholls

US President Donald Trump claimed yesterday that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened “soon,” warning that if this did not happen, the US would hit Iran “really hard.”
The comments were the most recent threats from Trump since he announced on Saturday that he called off planned strikes on Iran.
His apparent reversal was not the first time during the conflict he’d threatened attacks before calling them off.
Here’s a look at some of the previous times this has happened:
  • On March 21, Trump said the US would “hit and obliterate” Iranian power plants if Tehran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours. On March 23, shortly before Trump’s deadline was set to expire, the president said the US and Iran had held “productive conversations” and that he would hold off on striking energy sites for five days.
  • On April 7, Trump warned that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran did not agree to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Hours later, a two-week ceasefire between the countries was announced.
  • On April 21, the day before the ceasefire was set to expire, Trump said he expected “to be bombing” if negotiators couldn’t reach a deal. Later that day, he extended the ceasefire.
  • On May 17, Trump warned that “for Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them.” The next day, he said that he would “hold off” on a plan to attack Iran, citing a request from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
  • On June 11, Trump said that the US military would be hitting Iran “VERY HARD TONIGHT,” adding that it would also “be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points.” Hours later, Trump said he was canceling the strikes because “final points” of an agreement between the two sides had been approved.
  • On August 1, Trump said the US was “locked and loaded and ready” to attack Iran “at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II.” Despite this, he said, “I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL.”
my point is that the President's strategy seems to be really unfocused and back and forth, as if he himself is NOT sure whether he truly wants peace or war.

I think Trump wants out, but he does not know how.

What gives me some pause about this current war is not just the lives lost on both sides, but the seeming lack of coherent strategy in the conflict. Either we give them the strait, or spend billions and billions bombing them but failing to break their resolve. Neither option is really good at this point.
UNLIKE many many people today who would wish and PRESS some form of "humanness" to this thing called "WAR!?"
War is NOT pretty! NOT clean!
We can and SHOULD blame technology for this form or "Pacifistic War!"

And? Unlike WWII when the Emperor of Japan had "sympathy or compassion" for the people/country he ruled over?
It took 2NUKES for him to relinquish his resolve!

Iran has NO such sympathy NOR compassion over the people or country wherein they rule!
Last Great Act of Defiance.GIF
THIS is where America stands with Iran!
It's gonna get MORE UGLIER FOLKS!

Lol......And who is the judge on who is a "true born Christian"? YOU?
I'm not judging anyone. I am making the distinction between the nature of a born again Christian and those who use the name who are still unsaved and would think nothing of supporting a nation ethnically cleansing another nation of people. If you have the Spirit of God you will not partake in any appearance of evil. And lining yourself up with an anti Christ religion and ,/ or supporting it is not of God.

Trump demands Iran compensate Americans and protesters after Tehran seeks war reparations

I would say that Iran is in the driver's seat. As long as we fund/ support the anti- Christ Israeli government we will never be blessed.

Well, in fact even the Israeli public do not necessarily trust him any longer. Maybe they see his policy on Iran too back and forth or too difficult to follow/understand somehow.

My stance on Iran war is:
1. either end the iranian government now, make it a democracy
OR
2. just end the war, b/c it is just bleeding us try with no clear objective/endgame any longer.

Yeah, that's what happens when the US does not go all in during a war... as in boots on the ground.

If not being nuked someday by Iran was not important enough to put boots on the ground then we should have never started the war with Iran to begin with.

If we actually had the greatest military in the world then we'd invade and do regime change.

yup
But the US government isn't doing THAT either.

It's just attacking Iran but leaving most of its remaining leadership intact basically. And refusing to destroy their government.

The exit has officially begun. Numbers of military conscientious objectors has skyrocketed because what they see happening has challenged their moral beliefs ...citing being ordered to violate international law, seeing civilian death tolls surge bc of US intervention, and extended deployments with no clear mission or strategy.

Agree or disagree with the government's Iran war, though....it is true that our national debt is skyrocketing to a record high of $40 trillion dollars.

Even this conservative Hillsdale graduate Ingrid Jacques is unhappy about it now:
I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I had hoped President Donald Trump would make a dent in the national debt. He talked about it enough on the campaign trail. Now that the debt has hit $40 trillion, it's clear Republicans didn't just fail to fix the problem. They had full control of Washington and made it worse.

That number is hard to fathom, but it won't stay abstract for long. Interest on the debt alone now tops $1 trillion a year, more than we spend on anything except Social Security. It leads to higher inflation, higher interest rates, higher taxes, all of which slow the economy down. That's not sustainable.

Unfortunately, our politicians aren't willing to make the tough decisions necessary to put us on a safer fiscal course. They're more concerned with the next election than with tackling the debt.

And to be fair the President did promise to eliminate the debt back in 2026, but....it has only doubled since.
