assurance given to all men #1 assurance given to all men acts 17:30And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. This is a very good passage of scripture and one when rightly divided gives a great spiritual blessing.. The antichrist ministers have taken part of this passage and made it a condition for salvation for all men without exception vs 30.. But thats not the case at all, because, the Lord Jesus christ, has met and satisfied to the hilt, all conditions requisite for men and women to come into their experience of salvation..These men and women being of the election of grace, The Israel of God, The church or body of christ, the sheep..those for whom Jesus christ died for their sins, no matter of ethnicity, geographical location, or dispensation of time..They will come into the experience of conversion salvation.. And its on this premise, the resurrection of christ from the dead, that we can call on men and women to repent.. Paul could boldly say to them listening to his sermon on mars hill, that God has commanded all men everywhere to repent, because God has not previously done this.. No, up until the death and resurrection of Jesus christ, repentance to salvation had been limited [for the most part] to ethnic jews..but now with the confirmation of the blood of the new covenant, the blessings of the abrahamic covenant is being more realized, in that through it was announced that all nations would be blessed, and not just one nation gal 3:Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. And so, its from this spiritual foundation of truth of the gospel, that paul now or then commanded men to repent Now why command to repent if it was not a duty or condition for all people to have a chance at getting saved ? Because repentance was given as a privilege and a gift to all who Jesus christ was a saviour too It was given to all the Israel of God..acts 5:31Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. it must be emphasized, that where God gives repentance, he has given too with it, forgiveness of sins Also, to make clear that Israel to whom the repentance was given to was not national ethnic israel of the flesh, but spiritual Israel , comprised of the election of grace from amongst all nations..it is again reietrated that God had also given repentance, with forgiveness of sins to the gentiles..acts 11: 17Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? 18When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Notice, granted unto them repentance unto life !Not a opportunity for life, a chance at life, a possibility if they do this or that, but repentance unto life had been granted.. So this completes and defines the israel to whom peter had referred to in acts 5 31 ..who Jesus christ was a prince and a savior and had given them repentance and remission of sins..and life as mentioned in acts 11 18 above Folks, one cannot repent without having life given to them..The resurrected christ gives this life and repentance to his israel jn 1:4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. hence, the command to repent was spiritually given to all who had been given life from Jesus christ.. To all Men as in to all types of men, jew and gentile, men of all ethnicities made up the household of God, Israel according to promise. Why does it say in acts 5 31 that Israel is given repentance and remission of sins ? Remember, the gospel states that christ died for our sins..lets look at 1 cor 15: 1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Well christ dying for our sins, then rising again the 3rd day, means that God had forgiven all those for whom christ had died for their sins.. Makes sense doesnt it ? sense christ died for their sins, hence God graciously gives them the forgiveness of or the remission of their sins..hence the blood of the new covenant or testament accomplished the purpose it was shed for matt 26:28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. So, in line with the design of the blood shedding of the New Covenant, remission of sins is given and announced within the conscienous of the Israel of God acts 5 :31Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. lk 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, To give knowledge of salvation unto his people [israel of God] by the remission of their sins To give knowledge of ones salvation is not and is more than giving one a chance at getting salvation, its giving them the knowledge they have it already This knowledge in lk 1 77.its the greek word:gnōsis and its root means: to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feela) to become known2) to know, understand, perceive, have knowledge ofa) to understand to know3) Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman4) to become acquainted with, to know so, God gives knowledge unto His people, in that He gives them consious, experiential perception and acquaintance of their salvation..They come to know as they have been known But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God,
